Shorter DNI on election interference:

Russia ran it back in 2020, but had a lot more inside help from senators/officials/individuals in the United States.

Contradicting claims by Trump DNI, China 'did not deploy interference efforts and considered but did not deploy influence efforts' in US presidential race.

Iran 'carried out a multi-pronged influence campaign intended to undercut former President Trump's election prospects.'

To me, main takeaway from ODNI report is that America's enemies learned more from Russia-2016 about how to muck around in U.S. elections than the U.S. learned/did about how to stop it.

A brief thread:
In Feb. 2017, I wrote a story about Trump’s disastrous first phone call with the Australian prime minister.
That story led to a sort of pen-pal exchange with an Australian citizen that has continued to this day.

2) In his first message to me, he wrote about how upsetting it was to see an American president be so abusive toward such a staunch ally.

3) I hadn’t heard from Peter for a while until this week, when a new email arrived with the subject line: “US Not Alone.”
He wrote that he and his wife had been touring Queensland in their campervan and met many other Australians equally anxious about American’s fate.
