Former FTII chairman,
Gajendra Chauhan has a history of problematic tweets that he later deletes. He had tweeted and deleted in support of Shringi Yadav, the man who was seen assaulting a child in a viral video. Link to the deleted tweet 👉 1/n
His tweet on Shringi Yadav was was widely called out. 2/n
A TOI article on the hashtag support for abuser mentioned Gajendra Chauhan’s tweet and the fact that he had deleted it. 3/n timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ghaziabad…
There was even a reddit thread on BJP members lining up to support Yadav where Gajendra Chauhan’s tweet was prominently featured 4/n reddit.com/r/india/commen…
Given this backdrop, who would imagine that someone would actually come out and declare the Chauhan never tweeted in support of Yadav and that screenshots are morphed? It takes a serious ‘gold standard’ of an ‘Anti Fake News War Room’ #AFWA to do that. 5/n
The only thing that is fake here is IndiaToday’s laughable attempt to fact-check. How can they even think of attempting it when the archive link of Chauhan’s tweet is available 🤦🏽‍♀️ 6/n.
IndiaToday fact-check was based on their faulty understanding of time format of tweets. Elementary stuff for any fact-checker really! 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ 7/7 altnews.in/?p=88525

My aunt passed away many years ago. Among her belongings was an old album that she was very fond of. The album remained lost for many years, buried somewhere in a storeroom in the basement. It was found again recently during a clean-up. 1/n
As a young girl growing up in a small town in 1950s and 60s, she was completely enamored by movies. Much to the disapproval of her mother, she spent her free time writing fan mail to movie stars and over a time, built up quite a collection of autographed pictures and letters. 2/n
Sadly, most of it is now in a bad shape but I managed to salvage a few that I am posting in this thread. I’m sure she would have loved to show off her collection. So, here it is... 3/n

Someone must have thought that these coordinated tweets on #RelianceWithAnnaDatta are a great idea. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ 1/n
The beauty of these campaigns is that you don’t have to bother about making sense. 2/n
Everything is copy-pasted, including spelling mistakes. Very ‘protibale’ model. 3/n

It is so wonderful for a young poet to find that her work has been shared by a superstar but it’s unimaginable that he won’t give her credit even after she points it out to him. It has been nearly three days and @SrBachchan has not acknowledged @TishaAgarwal14’s poem. 1/n
In 2017, Kumar Vishwas had made a tribute video on legendary poets in which he included Mr. Bachchan’s father’s poem. When it was shared with him, this was his response. 2/n👇
He went on to send a legal notice to Vishwas for copyright infringement and unauthorised use of the poem. He also asked for an account of the revenue generated from the video. 3/n hindustantimes.com/bollywood/amit…

Thookta hai Bharat! Worldview Media Network Ltd in respect of its service Republic Bharat has been fined £20,000 by UK’s communication regulator, Ofcom for hate speech and highly offensive content, breaching Ofcom Broadcasting Code. 1/n ofcom.org.uk/about-ofcom/la…
That’s not all. Ofcom considered that a sanction is merited in this case since the breaches are serious. Here is the decision: 2/n Image
This is the content for which Republic Bharat was pulled up. Such stuff is actually quite normal for nationalist TV channels in India. 3/n Image

Now that CBI has charged the 4 Hathras accused for gang rape and murder, let us look at how the ‘honor killing, no rape’ narrative was echoed by the entire BJP ecosystem. Thread 1/n👇
Republic: “now that it appears there was no rape, leave alone gang rape...some people are suggesting it could be case of honor killing. Needs to be investigated.” 2/n
