I’m going to share this with you all: @udemy is a joke and it’s a platform that I will never ever use in my life. 🧵👇🏽
Last year I wanted to remove one of my courses from their platform. I was told that since it’s part of the Udemy business platform, I can only remove it after a year - in February 2021. Fair enough, I thought.
This year, on the exact day specified by them last year, I logged into the platform to remove the course in question. There was no option so I opened a case with them restating that I wish the course to be removed.
Their customer services told me that I can’t remove it because the course has been extended for another year...
Then I asked them why, since I specifically asked for the course to be removed. I was told that the course was flagged for low quality but then it got updated and passed the quality checks. Note - I haven’t changed anything in the course content.
When I asked for clarification, I was told that they are sorry but I can’t remove the course due to contractual obligations on the business platform. Again I reminded them that I asked for the removal before, and that they are keeping my course as hostage. 🤬
I was promised that they’d look into the matter - this was more than a week ago and I haven’t received any correspondence from them ever since. But, in the meantime I deleted all the videos for the course since it’s a course I did back in 2014 - really irrelevant content in 2021.
Udemy took 3 days to shut me out of their system due to a violation of their policy which was triggered by the removal of the videos - they disabled my account and stopped selling ALL my courses. I had to explain them again why this happened.
And this is where we are at now. Personally I will never go anywhere near Udemy again once this case is resolved. Their policies and customer service is utter rubbish. They provided me with flat out lies and then backtracked on them without explanation. So screw you @udemy 🤬🖕🏽
