The national media will tell you #MiamiBeach issued a state of emergency and shut down because of the crowds and some will lie and say it's because of Covid. That's only half the story. Here are some videos of what is really going on.
This happened TWICE at the same Resturant
And here's the aftermath. Everyone walked out on their tabs totaling over $2,000 before tips . Remember this happened TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. But there's more....
Walking out on the bill is SO common during spring break that waiters are now having to chase down patrons and tackle them on the street. Oh yeah and don't forget the women twerking and blocking traffic which happens on every street corner. But wait there's more
The fights are constant. Every day and night. At least 2 or 3 involve shootings. Mind you this is a 10 block by 3 block area. It's not that big. But wait....:there's more!!
The fights don't just end here. Oooh no they carry on to the airport. Like these two ladies in Fort Lauderdale. This one is my favorite by far because these 2 don't even care there's a cop there. But wait...there's more!!
Another night another Resturant completely trashed. This time a man decides to use a woman's head as a basketball on the asphalt.
This is why Miami Beach issued a state of emergency. It had zero to do with Covid and 100% to do with this type of NIGHTLY behavior
What you see here are 2 things. 1) over politicization of police work. The NAACP called Miami Beach PD racists last year and this is what happens when you don't let the police do their jobs
2nd and more importantly complete lack of foresight & planning by elected officials like @MayorDanGelber & company. He spent more time this past year on CNN complaining about DeSantis than taking care of his own house.
Cities get the leaders they deserve. Miami deserves better
To be clear the MBPD are awesome. They deserve zero blame.
But the city did not give them enough tools, like extra man power, to help them in this never ending battle.
So that failure caused another government failure - closing the area down completely.
As you can see none of this has anything to do with Covid. None of it. Miami's hospitals are virtually empty vaccinations are now available to 40+ year olds. Covid had no thing to do with shutting down miami beach. These videos is why they did it.
For those claiming these are old, edited, whatever. I walk through this daily. I live and pay taxes on Miami Beach. It doesn't get any realer than this.
For those claiming this is "normal for spring break", it's not. And trying to normalize this helps no one
This started to get real bad in 2019ish and is so bad even the police chief calls it the worse he has seen in 30 years.
Arrest data from the Miami Beach Police Department as of 3/22/21
48% of arrests are from Florida. Most Florida schools canceled spring break so one can only assume that a lot of those individuals are from Miami proper and not college students whatsoever
Looks like the Miami Beach spring breakers left Miami after the curfew was imposed and went to Puerto Rico.
The Puerto Rican government used, once again, Covid as the excuse.
The TV told us that kids were "flooding the hospitals" due to Covid infections.
Well we come to find out that 40% of the pediatric hospitalizations for Covid were actually for other issues and they just happened to test positive for Covid
The TV told us that thanks to the Delta variant unvaccinated we're getting more severe cases of Covid that required hospitalization. We find out that in fact after delta unvaccinated we're seeing more milder infections in the hospital than before
We know from the UK data that "Delta" is not more deadly just more contagious. However in FL we have seen dramatic increases in hospitalization rates while not seeing significant rises in fatality rates.
March 2020 -> June 2021 94,000 hospitalizations over 2.8m cases
June 25 -> Aug 26th 78,000 Hospitalizations over 842.000 cases
Hospitalization rates have skyrocketed for every single age group regardless of % vaxed. It increased DOUBLE in the most vax'ed age group (65+)
You have to start to ask yourself what information Democrats are being fed.
It's a proven fact that democrats severely OVERESTIMATE covid risks. Now, while the rest of the nation OVERWHELMINGLY Blames Biden they do not?
Even the Afgans blame Biden.
But not Democrats.
Well one thing is for sure, the Afgan refugees on these planes headed to America, if granted citizenship, won't be voting Democrat. Leave it to immigrants to save America from Americans.
Lets put the current FL Covid "outbreak" into perspective
Last July FL recorded almost 12,000 hospitalizations but the cases were confined to SoFla (30% of the state's pop)
This year cases are all over the state and we are ~10,000 hospitalizations state wide. (h/t @AWokeZombie)
In July 2020 Miami hospitalizations peaked at ~2500. It was the epicenter of FL covid cases. In the fall wave Miami's hospitalizations dropped by half. Today, with 75% of the population vax'd they are the same as they were in the fall.
Couple points:
The July 2020 outbreak was really confined to about 30% of the state's population but yielded 12,000 hospitalizations.
July 2021 outbreak is effecting the entire state yet hospitalizations are not materially different.
It's really fascinating watching life long democrats, who have consistently aided in admonishing the rest of America as unwashed heathens, wake up to the totalitarianism they ignorantly voted for and those "unwashed heathens" constantly complained about and voted against
To those of you finally waking up maybe you realize why half of the country believed in self accountability and always cringed when you willingly handed the government more control over your lives.
"Why do you need a gun? The police will protect you!" You screeched. Now you are all mad when the laws you happily voted for infringed on your ability to protect your own families
I totally understand the bearish sentiment in wheat futures. But bare in mind that the wheat/corn ratio is getting to 8 year lows and global prices are not that far apart where wheat will begin working into the global feed rations
21/22 wheat demand will be higher YoY
The USDA cannot ignore the 4mmt of old crop corn sold this week by leaving corn exports unchanged again. Which means corn will be the leader until the market realizes how bad of a 21/22 bean problem we will have.
Wheat cannot go to 0 in that environment
And it's not like China hasn't been drastically drawing down wheat stocks for feed as it's cheaper than domestic corn. That issue will have to be addressed this summer. How and from where is the million dollar question.
