#IDedicateThisWeekTo Isadora Duncan, an American dancer who performed to great acclaim throughout Europe. Born &raised in CA, she lived &danced in Western Europe &the Soviet Union.
She believed dance was meant to encircle all that life had to offer—joy and sadness. Image
So long as little children are allowed to suffer, there is no true love in this world.
Isadora Duncan Image
The wind? I am the wind. The sea and the moon? I am the sea and the moon. Tears, pain, love, bird-flights? I am all of them. I dance what I am. Sin, prayer, flight, the light that never was on land or sea? I dance what I am.
Isadora Duncan Image
Dance is the movement of the universe concentrated in an individual.

Isadora Duncan Image
Let us first teach little children to breathe, to vibrate, to feel, and to become one with the general harmony and movement of nature. Let us first produce a beautiful human being, a dancing child.

#IDedicateThisWeekTo Elizabeth Van Lew &Mary Bowser,a freed slave who posed as Jefferson Davis’s servant, worked together to bring down political fixtures of the South from the inside out.
Bowser,w/her photographic memory &incredible acting skills, was able to relay critical intel. ImageImage
Elizabeth Van Lew freed one of her family's slaves& sent her North to be educated. The young woman returned to Richmond and was placed in the Confederate White House as part of Van Lew's spy ring. Van Lew's diary describes her reliance on an AfAm referred to only as Mary.j ImageImage
Confederate leaders could tell there was a mole in the highest reaches of the Confederacy, but nobody ever figured out it was Mary. In his letters, Jefferson Davis complains that his mental state is collapsing under the strain of not being able to find the spy. Image

END THE FILIBUSTER /1
The Civil Rights Act could not be passed until a 60 day filibuster was ended by a 2/3 vote of The Senate.

The Civil Rights Act provided protection of voting rights;banned discrimination in public facilities, and public services.

END THE FILIBUSTER /2

Georgia Democrat Richard Russell offered the final arguments in opposition. Minority Leader Everett Dirksen, who had enlisted the Republican votes that made cloture a realistic option, spoke for the proponents with his customary eloquence.
END THE FILIBUSTER /3
“Stronger than all the armies is an idea whose time has come..
The time has come for equality of opportunity in sharing in government, in education, and in employment. It will not be stayed or denied. It is here!"

#IDedicateThisWeekTo Bob Moses, American educator & civil rights activist, known for his work as a leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee on voter education &registration in MS during the Civil Rights Movement &his co-founding of the MS Freedom Democratic Party. Image
Well, I don't think that the Democratic Party to this day has confronted the issue of bringing into its ranks the kind of people that were represented by the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. That is the real underclass of this country.

When you’re in Mississippi, the rest of America doesn’t seem real and when you’re out in the rest of America, Mississippi doesn’t seem real.

What the Capitol insurgency reveals about white supremacy and law enforcement
Rashawn Ray

Make no mistake, the Capitol insurgency was about making America great for white people.

White Supremacy Cops /2
In erecting a hangman’s noose, waving the Confederate flag &wearing white nationalist paraphernalia, including an Auschwitz Concentration Camp shirt, the domestic terrorists showed America they fundamentally believe in maintaining &enacting white supremacy.
White Supremacy Cops /3

Despite repeated warnings from the FBI and other national security agencies, the grossly inadequate security preparation by Capitol Police shows negligence at the least and conspiracy at the most among the upper echelons of law enforcement.

When white nationalists chant their weird slogans, what do they mean?
/1

White Nationalist Weird Slogans /2
“You Will Not Replace Us!”
(“Jews Will Not Replace Us!”)

The chant is related to the white-nationalist”WhiteGenocide”meme,
reflective of their fears that white people &white culture are under attack from multiculturalism &nonwhite races.
White Nationalist Weird Slogans /3
“Blood and Soil!” Possibly the most disturbing of all the chants heard in Charlottesville—the English rendition of Nazi Germany’s most fervent chant, “Blut und Boden!”

..adopted by the alt-right, particularly its openly neo-Nazi element..
