13 Life Lessons From @Naval Ravikant

| Thread
Naval Ravikant is an Indian-American entrepreneur and investor. He is the co-founder, chairman, and former CEO of AngelList.
He is one of my heroes, and here are the ten lessons I’ve learned from him.
1. "The source of wisdom is pain."
Only those who dare to pain and resist hardships greatly can ever achieve greatly.
2. "The foundation of learning is reading"
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go!
3. "The only real test of intelligence is if you get what you want out of life."
If at first, you don't succeed, try, try again.
Intelligence is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm until you succeed.
4. "Happiness is there when you remove the sense of something missing in your life."
If you want to be happy, do not dwell in the past, do not worry about the future, focus on living fully in the present.
5. "No one is going to value you more than you value yourself."
If you value yourself, you inherently feel that you are kind, compassionate, and respectful, and are worthy of those same things in return.
Aligning ourselves to our own self-worth allows us to move into more actionable steps that grow and nurture that worth.
This is done through self-value.
6. "Be patient, it takes 10 years to build a career in anything."
Patience can be bitter but her fruit is always sweet.
The most important thing in life is not the result obtained but the journey you are going to make for obtaining this result.
So, you have to learn to be patient in life to really enjoy this wonderful journey that is life.
7. "I, and I alone, am responsible for everything I think and feel."
Be careful with your words.
They can heal, and they can kill.
And also take responsibility for your own happiness, never put it in other people’s hands
8. "If you can’t decide, the answer is no."
It’s an easy way to make a decision and feel a lot less regret. It’s okay to have no idea and just say no.
You can always change your mind, too, and change your no into a yes.
9. "The price of productivity is creativity."
Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality.
It begins with a foundation of knowledge, learning a discipline, and mastering a way of thinking.
You can learn to be creative by experimenting, exploring, questioning assumptions, using imagination, and synthesizing information.
10. "If you want to make the wrong decision, ask everyone."
Be brave enough to live the life of your dreams according to your vision and purpose instead of the expectations and opinions of others.
You should not let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice
11. "Don’t settle, and don’t struggle. Life is what flows in between."
Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes.
Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be the reality.
Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
12. "If you aren’t curious about it, you’ll never be good at it."
By being curious you will be able to see new worlds and possibilities which are normally not visible.
They are hidden behind the surface of normal life,
and it takes a curious mind to look beneath the surface and discover these new worlds and possibilities.
13. "Relax. You’ll live longer *and* perform better."
We need to give ourselves a break, and a little downtime works well for everybody.
It doesn’t really matter what the activity or inactivity is.
The idea is to give your body, mind, and heart a chance to relax and recharge.
