How We Do Research For New Clients
------------------------------

A thread
The 4 main things we look at during our INITIAL research are:
-Offer
-Market
-Competitors
-Ads

But there are also others that we look into:
-Ad account's historical data
-Ad account structure
-Overall brand
-Funnels
-etc.

In this thread, we'll focus on the four.
Let's start with the offer:

We ask a few questions that'll help us get to know more about the product/service we're selling.

We go deep into the details by asking things like:

-What's our client selling?
-What are the features and benefits?
-What's the USP? What's the UM?
Then we go over the website, the ads that have been tested and the ones that are currently running, our launch questionnaire, etc.

But it doesn't end there.

We have an "Offer Reassessment Phase" as well.
This is where we write down the takeaways (relating to the offer) that we pick up along the way on our research.

This is basically where we write down everything -- ideas, what we've learned about the offer, our notes about it, etc.
Next is the market:

This is the core of our research so there's usually a lot going on here.

We go over demographics, psychographics, reviews, authority figures, publications, forums, personas, etc.
Then once we’ve gathered enough information, we analyze the data and look for common pain points, transformations, and stories of the market -- looking for personas and possible angles.
Then we go over our competitors (direct and indirect).

We learn a few things about them, like:
-Who they’re serving
-Their offers
-What they’re doing that we can apply to our own brand

And more.
Then we look for the commonalities and ask questions like:
-Who’s unique? Who isn’t?
-What angles are they using
-What differentiates us from them?

We get a lot of inspiration from our competitors. So we find the top 3 (initially) and really go over everything we can find.
Lastly, we’ll look at ads they've ran in the past (if there’s any).

We want to:
-Know what's working and what’s not working
-Why they’re working/not working
-Analyze the overall performance to find out what's missing
We do all these so we can fill in the gaps with what we have on our research.

Now, you're probably wondering:

How do I apply all this info to my ads?
How do I turn this into something actionable?
Where do I even start?
I'll be guiding you through that process in my coaching program.

I’ll be accepting clients until April 07. (4 slots left)

📩 DM me for more info!

(If you join before April 01, I'll audit your ad account for free.)

I kept telling you to do research...

But I rarely share how.

Here's an overview of how we do our market research for our clients:

Before we begin I want to give you 3 important notes on how we do research:

1. Make your research super clear and organized.

This will not only help you but also your copywriters, creatives, and other specialists that will benefit from your research.
2. List every single detail you come across. You never know what "important information" is until you need it.

3. Rank things (like benefits, features, objections) by frequency. This'll help you find the commonalities of your audience and what they want.

Let's dive right in! 👇

My team & I have been able to make ads on Facebook that generate over $1,000,000 in revenue for our clients.

The #1 reason for our success?

Speed.

Here are 3 rules we use to generate ideas faster than anyone else.
Thread 🧵
Rule #1: Research with intent.

Wading through Reddit, Quora, and Amazon for hours is a waste of time.

The whole point of research is to develop multiple hypotheses to test.

Listen.

You don’t need to know what Sally ate for lunch to sell her a dress...
But you do need to her desires, wants, needs, triggers, goals, and stories are.

Ask these 4 questions to dive deep into what your customers want:

1. What pain is their problem causing them to feel?
This will help you identify triggers that will cause them to take action NOW.

5 Reasons Why Research Will Make You More Money

#3 Will Teach You What to Look For (And Why)

-> Quick thread 🧵 <-
1. Most people think copywriting is about writing.

False.

Copywriting is 10% writing.

The other 90% is strategy, thinking, and research and getting to know your customer better than they know themselves.

Research is where the money is made!
2. When you go fishing…

You don’t bring steak.
You bring worms.

Because even though you like steak, fish don’t.

When you do your research, you’ll know exactly what your audience wants.

And when you sell what your audience wants, you’ll make money.

I’ve tested over 10,000 ads in the last 5 years so you don't have to.

Here are 10 ways to create high-converting FB ads without spending $1000s on creatives or wasting a ton of time and effort.

//Thread//
1. Ppl mindlessly scroll on FB.

If you want them to even look at your ads, you need to shock/interrupt them with great hooks.

Make them stop the scroll and say "Wait, what's this?" when they see your ad.

Want to learn how to make good hooks? Read this:

2. Remember the rule of one when making your ads.

Focus on one big idea.

Focus on one problem.

Focus on one offer.

Focus on one audience.

Focus on one call to action.

“You do not write copy, you assemble it.”

Copywriting legend Eugene Schwartz said that.

What he meant is that good ads are assembled from…

- What customers fear
- What they desire
- How they talk

You find those out by doing deep research.

Here’s how 👇

// THREAD //
The first step is creating your customer avatar.

Doing so will make your ads as targeted and effective as possible.

Some of these will be easy to figure out, while others will need to be filled in after you do your research.
One aspect of your avatar is demographics:

- Age
- Gender
- Location
- Social Status
- Income

These start to paint a picture of your customer.

The 15 Copywriting Mantras

15 crucial copywriting lessons to build a 7-figure agency from scratch

// THREAD // Image
1) Worms taste better than steak.

I like steak.

but for some strange reason, fish prefer worms.

So when I go fishing, I don’t bring steak.

I bring worms.

Think about what your audience wants, NOT what you want.
2) Write like a 5th grader

Contrary to what you were taught in school,

Complex words ≠ Better writing.

Want to write better copy?

Dumb down your writing.

A 5th grader should be able to read your copy and understand every single word.
