FUTURE OF ROAMJS
These are just the first two services I'm launching. Over the next few months, I want to grow RoamJS by creating new and improving existing extensions and services.
Services will give me the flexibility to devote more resources to each
5/
Since services are basically licensed extensions, it opens the door to OTHER Roam hackers offering premium extensions through RoamJS.
This is not currently supported, but if you're interested please reach out so we could think through what this could look like
6/
Every line of code written for these services is open source:
I welcome any and all who want to take pieces of what I built and build on top of it
7/
With this launch, I get to start testing a thesis: the value in SaaS is in the service, not the software. Without profitability, there would be little other reason for software to be private.
There is so much more to gain than lose by making our logic publicly accessible
8/
I get to also begin building my portfolio of small bets with this launch, an idea I stole from @dvassallo.
Being supported by a portfolio of small web services, each with its own niche audience will allow me to be unemployable forever :)

Presenting my submission for the third #RoamGames - Fanout!
Micromanaging the finances surrounding this awesome experiment must be a pain in the ass. Fanout demos what a solution to make this easier could look like!
