And just like that, I completed each main game in the #FinalFantasy series (with the exception of FFXI...which I played but did not complete). Some amazing games here!

Thread:
My favorites? This was hard. FF4, 6, 7, & 12. But that's because I really love good stories over gameplay, and these stories were incredible. 9 and 10 were honorable mentions. 9 was a good "throwback" and 10 was a huge step forward for the series.
My least favorites? FF2, 5, 8, & 13. These are likely where the gameplay frustrations overshadowed the weaker story. Probably 11 too as I couldn't spend the time to flesh out everything. I did put about 58 hours in.
I think the most important in the series is FF6. FF7 is amazing, but it wouldn't be what it is without FF6. And FF1 being the foundation is very good. I wish they would remake that.
I understand the hate for FF2. Trust me. But, FF2 gave us many memorable staples of the series: Chocobos, Cid, guest party members (Josef!!), & the back row!
FFXIV really needs its own shoutout. This massive game takes the best from the series into one package. This was such a fun (and long) adventure. Being my first (and probably only) MMO, I didn't understand the draw until I played a dungeon and got 7 player commendations.
A comment on progression and grinding: Most games have some sort of grinding involved, however there were two games that had a final boss jump so large I almost stopped playing. FF3's Crystal Tower was great but too long and hard. FF10's boss was impossibly hard.
This series helped me understand that I like turn-based battle systems. I like to think out the moves like a chess game.
There seems to be a preference of others to having open world vs. linear. I find I don't really care. Many of the games have open world portions and extremely linear portions in the same game. I enjoy both.
And the music. It didn't hit me until Final Fantasy 12 how good the music can be. I need to review this more.
Another interesting thing is what they called summons. It changed frequently throughout: Calls, summons, Eidolons, Espers, Guardian Forces, Aeons, Avatars, Primals, Astrals, Eikons (FF16).
In future tweets, I'll talk about the protagonists and the logos.

Can we talk about #FinalFantasy logos? They all so beautiful.
They all give insight to an important part of the game.
You don't always know at the beginning, but by the end of the game you have no doubt.
