HOW FAR CAN YOU GO?

"How far can you go?" my latest work which is in progress got me researching about people who have gone far to defend the spread of the Gospel. This morning while reading, a voice in the spirit said something "
why all this stress?, when you have a living example to write about" and I asked "who?" The name of LEAH SHARIBU came out loud.

I did not know anything about Leah Sharibu until that faithful day; Nigerians woke up to the news of the released kidnapped schoolgirls in Dapchi Yobe
State.

She saw her mates getting ready to go home, and the only way she was to be part of the homecoming party was to deny Jesus simple, people deny Jesus every day and they just go and ask God for mercy and life continues, but not Leah. I saw her mates give her reasons to
deny Jesus, Did she think of her academic year in school? c'mon Leah; at least think about school, your dream to become a Doctor, an Engineer, that renowned Lawyer and so on. Fine if you do not think about that , what about Mummy?, you know she will cry herself to sleep every
day, haba Leah, Deny Jesus for mummy Not Leah. Since you do not want to deny Jesus for this reason, take a minute to think about what will befall you if you do not deny Jesus, you know this people have a reputation of torturing their hostage before killing them,
"Jesus went to the cross for me, I cannot deny him now" replied Leah. Leah please can you leave Jesus out this at least for now?, then I do not see the reason of you been here at the first place if Jesus is out of this. There is no need trying to stand up for Him. What if you
die?, Please Leah think about all this then she smiled: " To live is Christ and to die is gain, do not worry I would not die if my assignment is not completed"…

Leah you are just 15! and you made Jesus shed tears of joy, saying I did not die in vain. I thought after one
month, you would give up, or months later after Hawa was killed. Everyone could have understood, but not you; your boldness gave many strength, you stood and you are still standing, great warrior of faith, God strengthen you.

I am writing this from a bleeding heart:
what if I was in the same place as Leah that day, what will be my decision? Will I deny Jesus or stand up for Him, I know what you are thinking right now, I would not deny Jesus, you know it is easier said than done. Do you know every day many of us deny Jesus in that office, in
school, through that business transaction, amidst friends and so on?
Some people even called her a fool for holding on to her faith, some said she could have renounced her faith that when she gets home, she could ask God for forgiveness. This people that said this could have been
her Bible study teachers, or her teenage class mentor. Oh Leah carried out the practical of what she was taught. Do know what? Leah Sharibu just made the “Hall of Faith” (Hebrew 11).

We usually pray "God me Make the (David, Paul, Ruth, Esther, Samuel, Peter etc. ) of this
generation. I read about all this persons, but I have a practical example, so I would not be wrong if this becomes my prayer point " Oh God, give me the boldness of Leah Sharibu to stand up for the gospel, anytime, anyway and anywhere"

Today we have ministers who cannot honor
invitations to programs because the area or state where the program will hold is in crisis, I was in a convention last year and the center that had the highest representatives was the center where the crisis actually happened. This got me thinking: Leah is in the center of the
crises and she is still holding on, we are quick to declare our love for God in the place prayer but when the time actually comes for us to stand for Him, we are nowhere to be found. The gospel is not to be shared when convenient.

I have heard and read of John Fox, Smith
Wigglesworth, A. W Tozer, Mary Slessor, David Livingstone and many others. Today, I am alive to witness you still standing up for Christ. Leah Sharibu went far for the Gospel and today, she is an Heroine of Faith in the 21st century and I am a witness to that.
As you go about
your daily activities, please pray for Leah Sharibu’s freedom and also pray for her family too.
