There was a glitch in my Steam receipt email and it makes it look like it is performing some kind of incantation
Okay so are there any "worth playing" games in the post-Undertale "RPG maker type game with feels" cohort besides Omori and Everhood I should know of. Also is OFF! the post-Undertale cohort or the post-Yume Nikki cohort
Oh snap that's the game Eric Chahi who did Out Of This World worked on! Eric Chahi did a VR game and it's out now and it's free on PSN right now! Uh. For everybody?? Not just PSN Plus subscribers?! I just got a free copy??
"The Witness" and "Thumper" are also free right now if you look upthread. Free is a good amount of money to spend for the Witness. You should get The Witness if it's free. Also $10 is a good amount to pay for Thumper, you should… download it free and buy a Lightning Bolt album?
I don't even actually know which Lightning Bolt album to recommend?? I usually just recommend looking for their live sets? They're kind of an "experience" lightningbolt.bandcamp.com/track/king-of-…
(This tweet is probably wholly incoherent. Thumper is designed by the guitarist from Lightning Bolt)
I get paid to program computers, which is the nice part of the day, but then I have to sleep for free, and I have to *pay money* to eat?? Like, literally, I pay money?? What a rip off
Food, man. What a terrible idea. Who came up with this stuff
Notes:
- This one's odd because The End was specifically *intended* as the final Beatles song but by all chronological methods except one it goes before those other 3
- I apologize that I Me Mine is not an option here but Twitter limits you to 4 choices
Hold on, this position is defensible! "Real Love" was being earnestly recorded by Lennon circa 1979, almost made it on Double Fantasy and was actually released on the 1988 "Imagine: John Lennon" album. "Free as a Bird" legitimately got first release 1995
I want to linger on the Alice Bach "Phreakers" book, because it is absolutely AMAZING this series exists yet not even the Internet remembers it. This was basically the book that taught me at age nine it is okay and natural to be a phreaker, and also a girl
Give a nine year old in 1992 the Alice Bach "Phreakers" books and show them the movie "Sneakers" and they will be basically set for life to understand infosec at a conceptual level
Current side project status: My VR-less Rust port of VR engine/Lua host lovr.org can now execute minimal games, as long as they don't use any modules other than lovr.filesystem.
(Humorously this means it crashes if you boot it without supplying an argument, since the "No game found!" screen uses lovr.event.)
The Plan is still proceeding according to schedule.
Realizing one of my Github repos has this bar in the bottom right. Now wondering exactly what kind of project you'd have to do to make this bar as cursed as possible
Rust and Lua isn't really that cursed of a combination. Cursed would be like... Haskell and Integer BASIC, or something
My Emily language projects are kind of fun because in both versions Github understands Emily's .em suffix as something called "EmberScript". (I've never tried to stop this because EmberScript has similar enough keywords it means I get sorta-okay syntax highlighting on Github.)
