1)the thesis for your investment is no longer true. i.e. Pipeline project gets cancelled
2)the position has appreciated so much it is now too big-I give myself a little wiggle room here & let winners run but will sometimes sell calls against my stock.

4)the thesis has played out - stock should get rerated for x,y,z reason and it happens

4)Data breach
5)The stock is unloved-be patient. $GM winnings weren’t built in a day.
