Los Angeles and Orange counties have progressed to the point where they can more widely relax some coronavirus-related restrictions on businesses starting this week.

So what does the orange tier mean?

• Bars can reopen outdoors with some modifications and will no longer be required to also serve food

• Houses of worship, museums, zoos and aquariums can raise their indoor capacity from 25% to 50% latimes.com/california/sto…
• Restaurants and movie theaters can raise indoor capacity from 25% or 100 people (whichever is fewer) to 50% capacity or 200 people

• Indoor gyms and yoga studios increase from 10% to 25%.

But that optimism comes with caution. Coronavirus cases, though low in California, are on the rise elsewhere in the country — a reminder of the continued danger and the risk of potentially moving too quickly back toward pre-pandemic norms.

Los Angeles County health officials are pushing back orange tier reopenings to April 5.

By waiting a bit longer, officials said later Tuesday, they have more time to make sure that previous tier reopenings have not increased COVID-19 transmissions.
