Tbh, find it really upsetting, in a fight-or-flight, jaw clenched way, to see energy that could be used to ask for changes, for the FIA and FOM to take clear lines about predation, exploitation in paddocks or by people in them, going on Mazespin memes.
The guy isn't going to be fired or go away. Neither is the widespread problem, unless actual things happen to address it. This could be done, most of them aren't even difficult - especially at currently closed events.

One guy isn't the whole problem. He's not even the worst, by horrible miles. If we let this turn into memeing one guy it doesn't do anything. It's just as cheap as any of the other shit memes about spinning and it takes away a conversation we can and should be having about safety
Sorry if I care about that in my workplace and knowing hundreds of horrible stories that people can't tell, it's not funny and I don't see why anyone should be trying to make it funny. Make it about it not being closed door processes and hidden agreements, the same old shit.
And yeah, it does trigger me in the literal sense it sets my broken brain off that what could have been a moment to pressure sporting bodies to be clear on this, take issues like exploitation for access (huge, known problem) & decades of misogyny seriously, has become 🅱️ meme lol
I was writing a piece about what should be done again but people know. It's fixable. Like every single industry (games, film, theatre) where getting in (and staying there) needs money and/or connections, there's a broken power imbalance that gives anyone with those way too much.
