This April 1 is definitely filled with fools. Find them all down at the #AZLeg on the R side. They’re busy voting no on mask mandates because autonomy/freedom, while criminalizing abortion because autonomy & freedom don’t count for pregnant hussies or something like that?
Special shout out to Walt Blackman, who spoke on behalf of “the Black community.” Which Black community? Must be the one located in The Sunken Place.
Remind me to tell y’all about the time Walt, his wife, and their friends (who are shockingly NOT Black) joked that my sister and I must’ve been raised with “no father in the home” because we believe repro rights are human rights. My dad got a kick out of that. 😉
So, he and his dangerously ignorant ideas don’t represent MY Black community. His Black community is a community of one.
Also, he probably claps on the 1s and 3s. 🤣

SB 1457, the invasive and insidious anti-abortion bill was amended and passed the House and will be up for a vote on the Senate floor, likely on Monday. If 1457 is not stopped now, it goes to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
SB 1457 makes sound science and medical treatments illegal. Doctors and patients become felons. It bans abortion based on fetal anomaly diagnosis and disability status. In reality, there are so many toxic layers to this bill that it’s still unclear as to everything it undermines.
A few of the hits:
* Makes IVF illegal (page 1, line 6)
*Criminalizes doctors and patients, with up to 5 years mandatory prison sentence
*Bans abortion based on disability status and fetal anomaly diagnosis (page 18)
Did y’all know there were 2 movies in 2020 where the plot involved a pregnant Black woman being held captive by crazy white ladies? Well, now you do. I’m watching Delivered on Hulu! hulu.com/movie/2c4fca1a…
The other was Kindred, which is also on Hulu. I watched it in January. It was good.
And there’s gotta be a book or article about this. I mean, there are articles about pregnancy as a them in horror, but are there any specifically dealing with Black women?
