Our path as a creator is not set in stone. It’s vague, dark, and can be a lonely road.

It doesn’t make sense to nail down 10-year goals, as our environment is very dynamic. We should have an understanding of our overall vision but be guided by small steps.

Here's what helps me.
A framework that guides my day-to-day life and keeps anxiety out.

One that helps me focus on the next step, but keeps the end goal in mind.

I'm talking about the ABZ framework. Image
A = where you currently are

B = your next step - big or small, just what gets you to Z

Z = your end goal

It’s that simple.
Approach it as a game; define your Z, start from A, achieve B, which then becomes your A. Define a new B that brings your closer to Z.

Repeat 🔄
Know where you want to end up, but focus only on the next, small step at hand.

This way, you remain focused. It’s the perfect combination of focus and overview, zooming in and out at the same time.

A framework that’s suitable for any creator in a dynamic environment.

Creators, we can’t expect to grow without feedback.

Here are 5 ways we can get outside perspectives and benefits 👇👇👇
👉 Understand that feedback already exists.

People are more than willing to tell us what they think. They might have even said something in passing.

It’s our nature to avoid it.

We can change this habit by actively seeking it & finding opportunities to get it.
👉 Become a better listener.

Pride comes before the fall. Especially when we think we have more to say than others.

Your audience knows more than you. Thousands of years of experience are at your fingertips.

Listen to what they think and say about the content you give them.

When you create content for an audience, know 3 things:

1. Nobody will care about you

2) You will get ridiculed at any point

3) Somebody will say something mean to you

Overcome this & you have thick enough skin to go on

Everything worth doing is outside of your comfort zone
On a collaborative website like Wikipedia, 90% of the participants of a community only consume content

9% of the participants change or update content, & 1% of the participants add content

Think of it — 99% of the internet are consumers.

Join the 1% & stand out

Be a creator
Limit the time spent on consuming content, increase the time spent creating.

As a freelancer, you’re only as good as your latest work.

Here are the 3 tactics I used to land my first 3 copywriting clients without any professional freelancing experience.

👇
1/ From Zero to One

The first one is always the hardest. It looks like a daunting and grueling task: selling yourself to strangers.

How to convince someone else I am capable enough and let them part with their beloved money?
In the beginning, this is tough as there isn’t any experience to show your client. There’s one thing you could do:

Proof to your potential client you're capable of the thing you said, by doing the work. Let’s say, a prospect needs help with their brand identity and strategy.

A creator digests, iterates, curates, innovates, eliminates, and finally, creates.

Here are 7 of the best threads I read recently.
2/ The fantastic job @chrishlad did by recapping an epic conversation between @david_perell and @jackbutcher.

Building in public equals learning in public.

Drafting tweets, writing articles or setting up funnels to build my business all contribute to the bigger picture: to become a better creator.

My online audience grew exponential, so did my confidence.

I'm in for the long run.

👇
1/ Building in public elevated my life

In 2020, my goal was to publish 3 articles

Scared as hell, but I pressed publish and my first article was live. I would annihilate that target by publishing 70 articles in 4 months.

Writing took over my life and changed it for the better.
1/ Get practical

1️⃣ Your personal brand is everything - they can never take it away from you.
2️⃣ Practice as creators' mindset and you never run out of opportunity
3️⃣ Money is everywhere - you just have to know where to look.

Let me tell you this:

There's always something you can teach others.

And it's your obligation to help them.

Talking to @AlexLlullTW made me realize I should share this piece of advice:

👇
No matter your skill level, there will be always people behind you that you can serve and teach something.

The same as you're always a level behind someone else.

Knowing this and applying it to your life is a game-changer.

Find an -1, 0, and 1 person in your life and grow.
-1 = a person that's behind you in a certain skill

Teach them, take them under your wing, or help them set up something.

You don't have to do the work for them, just give them a helping hand.

On- or offline, it doesn't matter. Help out.

One day, you were in that position.
