This is all very sketchy. Democrat Mayor of North Las Vegas, John Lee, announced that he's switching to Republican because socialists took over leadership of the Nevada Democrat party.

It's not like people haven't switched parties before, which is all well and good, but what is their main motivation for switching? And what else is going on that we should know about?
There’s a possible issue here but hard to tell what the real story is, though I’m suspicious. Is this why he’s switching over?

He supposedly was on his iPad and accidentally clicked a porn link in an email, which could have led to viewing child porn.
He then supposedly reported it to the police.
However, the Police Chief at the time investigated and said they couldn’t confirm it and it was dropped.

The iPad WAS turned over to the FBI, though, who said they couldn’t be sure that the porn involved children. They claimed they couldnt verify because it came from overseas.
FBI also said they could not find any emails on that date that contained any porn links, but they DID find some in his iPads browser history. Again, they couldn’t confirm the age of what looked like could be children.
I mean, it sounds to me like the story of an email containing it was bs. If the alleged email existed, and it was proof of his innocent clicking on spam, why couldn’t authorities find it?
Sorry, I’m not quite clear if this detective was Police or FBI, but:

The other odd part is that, one day after he retired, the same Police Chief told media that Mayor Lee received special treatment during the investigation.

However, reading down further, the same Police Chief previously told media that he DIDN'T think Lee received special treatment.
Lee spoke about it all due to the former Chief talking to media.
