Tomorrow my baby start kinder garden thanks to Louis Tomlinson; a long and beautiful thread
my son has hyperacusis, he perceives different sounds in everyday life, including other people's voices, as uncomfortable or even painful. (Sound intolerance is accompanied by earache, sensation of foreign objects, panic attacks, crying spells that are difficult to justify and
tinnitus)
As can be expected, hyperacusis profoundly affects the life of the patient, dramatically reducing their social capacity and causing work limitations, keeping them away from ordinary work and social environments
It was a challenge to go out with him, we had to go to the park only when he was empty, not to mention going to a supermarket or playing with other children (how to explain to them not to make noise?) even when playing in our house, he was usually upset by cars passing by on
the street or dogs barking
It was so frustrating not having a way to help him, the only thing I could do was minimize exposure to noise and accompany him when they were unavoidable.
That is why in my home the tv was always silent, and I could only listen to music with headphones
One morning, before his 3rd birthday, Ben was sleeping, I put walls on the television very quietly while preparing breakfast, when I returned to the living room, he was sitting on the couch hugging his legs and looking at the screen
It was the first time I heard something foreign to my voice without crying.
The song was "too young", that amazing masterpiece, sung by the most loving and harmonious voice was
the one that woke him up (in every way)
the song ended and asked to play it again, and again and again.
We played it all day, it was the first day without a panic attack.
It was about two weeks listening to too young on a loop, and incredibly quickly I started noticing the changes. I spoke with his doctor and indeed, he was advancing by leaps and bounds, Louis transmitted the calm that allowed him to forget about everyday noises
he focused only on the voice.
slowly I began to introduce him to other songs from walls, the most acoustic ones, and I connected incredibly with all, I can't explain how overwhelmed I felt when I could really notice that he could have a normal life, without suffering pain every
day, without having to live whit so many limitations
From that day on, everything was growth and improvement, having the music in the background all day he can play calmly, slowly he stopped noticing outside noises, and that made him totally free to develop to the fullest
The change was so great that we began to go out freely, always with headphones with walls at minimum volume to feel safe, he began to tolerate everything that was previously hell, until eventually he left the headphones.
Today, he lives normally, loves and listen to Louis, Harry and one direction every day, he no longer needs it but he continues to enjoy it, he always sings while playing while drawing, while we walk, even for his fourth birthday he asked a microphone and we do karaoke every night
we continue with terpies but the growth and improvement is crazy, totally unexpected in such a short period of time (one year)
A year ago, it was impossible to think that he would be able to go to the garden, but today is the day and he cannot be happier. All this is for you, thank you Louis, for being the safe place for me son.
Ps: we love you so much, and always do. Can't wait to see you on tour 🇦🇷❤
Thank you so much for all the love and support!! It was an amazing first day for us 🙌🏻
@Louis_Tomlinson everything about you is full of love ❤
