He says the NCAA investigation is taking longer than expected. As said in the press release, the terms on Miller's remaining year will be met.

Heake on effects of Miller financials in regards to former football coach Kevin Sumlin's buyout: "It will be absorbed in athletic budget and will be paid for by revenues."
Heake on 4 years of NCAA allegations and 'Why now?': "We've been clear that we've wanted to let this process play out."

Heeke says the decision to fire Miller was made "late last evening, early this morning before arriving at the office"
Heeke says they spoke to the players this morning. "Obviously a difficult time. They have my 100% commitment we will go out and find an outstanding coach. ... Unstable time. I encourage them to stay with us."
Heeke says Miller was "as always very professional and respectful" in the firing this morning.
Says that 'all archetypes' and "profiles of coaches will be reviewed. ... We don't have one profile."
Heeke notes how UArizona women had a successful #WFinalFour run and how the expectations for all sports are championship level.
Heeke on UNC, Michigan & Indiana hiring former players as coach: "Each unique place ... has it's own unique circumstance. The time, the moment, the individuals connected to it begin to lead you in a direction. I think it's inspiring what they've done had some success with that."
Heeke on Arizona being the lone Power 5 school with a head coaching vacancy: "I think it goes without question that we are one of the premier programs in the country," and that it is an 'extremely intriguing position.'
Heeke didn't say whether or not prior head coaching experience is a prerequisite for the role. Repeated his preference to finding "right fit" and that they can put together "an attractive package" to do so.
