If there’s a tech difficulty (say- website defaults to an old address no matter where you direct shipment)
It’ll take wading through ∞ hold, multiple x. Then you’ll pay for a new order while they sit on refund for up to 24 days... (1)
Checking email notifs, saw wrong address. Called immediately. Items staged for shipping, but had not left the warehouse, couldn’t be stopped or rerouted.
So, shipped it anyway, knowing it was going to wrong pt of delivery.
Was able to cancel and reorder the other items. (2)
The items knowingly being shipped to wrong address could not be refunded until THEY WERE DELIVERED TO THE WRONG PLACE.
When delivery notif recv’d by me, called back (another 30 minute hold). Only one item was available. We generated a NEW order. Told refund in 3-10 days. (3)
No confirmation of refund was sent. I did recv confirm of the one item ordered, (originally part of a large order w free shipping), but now be charged for shipping. Had to call ∞ again and get shipping waived. Checking on the refund, and no confirmation, assured 3-10 days. (4)
Item is being delivered today (🤞🏽). It has been 9 days since told refund would be 3-10 days. No documentation a refund is in the works.
Called ∞ customer service again (25 minutes):
Associate says, “It will be 28 days” 😡 😡 😡 😡
I am over being calm, nice, and polite. (5)
A) Wrong address was a website technical problem. Current address hasn’t been a problem before.
B) Not being able to keep an item from leaving the warehouse to go to a known wrong address, all @Lowes.
C) LONG holds- total elapsed phone time 2:15- and counting. On hold NOW. (6)
D) 3-10 days became 14-28, which became, “Oh- we can’t refund that. IT WAS SENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS AND OUR POLICY STATES NO REFUNDS FOR THAT” 🤬.
1) My Ex-husband and I owned a home improvement and landscaping S-Corp in the mid 90’s. We had 3 kids. One loved the construction work, and at 16 became a certified welder after months of night school. Yrs of commercial welding and a bachelor’s later, she is a construction FE.
2) It just so happens she needs to build, to make. Unfortunately, many of her co-wkrs ovr the yrs had issues w her choice. It’s as though welding a seam or assembling a work pack req male genitalia. As a welder, she’d train men w ZERO experience, but were paid 40% > as new hires.
3) She though getting her undergrad and becoming a construction mgr would earn her respect, that finally she would be seen for her merits, not her gender.
She was hired by a maj North American company, and put to wk. She was thrilled. A few weeks in, she was sent to a job site.
