How two hospitals robbed me my son, my peace and property all in one day. THREAD!!
10th April 2020 i took my wife to St Teresa Kikuyu for check up. She was 7months pregnant with our son. On that day in the morning she told me she was having unusual discharge and so we decided to go to the hospital.
Lab tests were done. Diagnosis. UTI! She was admitted as the doctors told me they needed to monitor her. I was told to pay admission fee and scan fee. I went home and i called her at around 3:40pm.
A scan had just been done and everything was fine according to the sonographer.
At around 5:00pm i called her again and she couldn’t talk clearly i could hear from her voice that she was in pain. The pain started after the scan when she was injected by the nurse. I got confused. From being told the baby is intact to the intense pain.
She was rushed to the maternity and the nurses wanted her to deliver that time. That was 6:30pm. She contested about the delivery after being told the hospital had no facilities for premature babies.
I gave them options (on phone because it was curfew time) to take her to a public hospital but they refused they only wanted to take her to Beleview hospital citing the other hospitals could not admit her.

She was taken all the way to South C at around 9. It is important to note that they delayed from 6:30 to 9pm while my wife was in pain thus endangering both my son and my wife.
At around 9:45pm she delivered a very handsome baby boy. I went to see them & i was given a clean bill of health by the pediatrician bt they told me both my wife and son needed to stay there since the baby was underweight & needed to be on O2 which in normal to all premie babies
On that same day i was called by one of the guys at the admin desk he told me that they would discontinue treatment unless i paid the bill.
I had no money at that time so i gave them my logbook as colateral.
The threats did not stop they would even go to harrass my wife in the ward. The threats became too much so i decided to meet the directors of the hospital to explain my situation and we agreed that i would pay in instalments.
Still that was not enough the threats did not stop. Anyway, after three weeks, my baby had gained weight and was coming out of O2 and so we were ready to go home when the worst happened.
2nd May i went to visit them in the hospital and the pediatrician told me that my baby was having some complications and at 2pm, we lost our baby.
At that time the bill had accumulated to Ksh650,000. The hospital wanted my wife to remain in the hospital until the bill is cleared. Upon hearing that, i gave out my car and we went back home to mourn the death of our son.
On the second day after the passing on of my son, we went back to the hospital to take the body of our baby. That is when we learnt that he had been taken to Chiromo without our consent and they refused to release the body to us citing bill payment.
I couldn’t understand since they had both my car and the logbook. Akila Police Station OCS intervined and the body was released the following day.
After our story was aired on Citizen, KMPDU contacted us and we went for hearing last year May and upto now we haven’t heard from KMPDU.
That is my story of pain. My baby never got justice. And my car was sold without my approval of transfer of ownership and my details have been deleted from my TIMS account. How did this happen? THE END.
