.@tedcruz's hometown paper, the @HoustonChron, calls on him to resign. houstonchronicle.com/opinion/editor…
"A brilliant and frequent advocate before the U.S. Supreme Court and a former Texas solicitor general, Cruz knew exactly what he was doing, what he was risking and who he was inciting as he stood on the Senate floor Wednesday and passionately fed the farce of election fraud..."
"Cruz, it should also be noted, knew exactly whose presidency he was defending. That of a man he called in 2016 a “narcissist,” a “pathological liar” and “utterly amoral.”"

120 countries require testing of UK passengers to avoid new virulent COVID strain. But not the U.S., as six flights a day land at JFK. nypost.com/2020/12/20/cuo…
"So far, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Ireland and Bulgaria have all announced bans or strict restrictions on UK travelers since Johnson announced London’s lockdown on Saturday."
"UK leader Johnson had on Saturday said that the fast-moving new variant of the virus is 70 percent more transmissible, blaming it for more than 60 percent of new infections in London and surrounding areas."

.@anniegowen on how COVID has ravaged Mitchell, SD.

"Restaurants were packed. Big weddings and funerals went on as planned.

Then people started dying. The wife of the former bank president. A state legislator. The guy whose family owned the bike shop." washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/12…
"The anti-mask forces sat with naked faces, defying the mayor’s order. One by one, they got up to air their grievances. They wept. They swore. They cited junk science: Positivity defeats the virus. So does a healthy lifestyle, eating wild-caught sardines,..
pasture-raised beef liver and drinking raw organic kombucha. A young mother stood up and compared anti-maskers to Jews persecuted in the Holocaust: “The bare face is the new yellow star of Nazi Germany,” she said."

Holy shit ⁦@BrianKempGA⁩ stole the damn election.

Of the more than 300,000 names that were purged from the rolls, the study discovered that 198,351 Georgia voters were wrongly purged, a 63.3% error rate. hillreporter.com/the-georgia-ac…
* @BrianKempGA beat @staceyabrams by about 55,000 votes.
"The results of our investigation are breathtaking and heartbreaking: 198,000 Georgia citizens wrongly purged from voter rolls—using a system which tends to target younger voters and voters of color." acluga.org/en/press-relea… | @ACLUofGA

Holy crap. Three years ago Kushner's stake in Cadre was worth $5 million. He just sold it for $25-50 million after it benefitted from Opportunity Zone tax breaks that Kushner pushed for. syracuse.com/us-news/2020/0…
A short thread on Kushner's sale of Cadre:
"In selling his stake, Mr. Kushner also took advantage of a special federal program that would allow him to defer paying income taxes on any gain on his investment in Cadre, which he helped found in 2014." nytimes.com/2020/03/05/us/…
"But Mr. Kushner’s investment in Cadre has repeatedly drawn questions. He initially failed to list it in a financial disclosure report he filed with the federal government after being named as a White House official."

Yesterday, Trump pardoned Edward Gallagher over Pentagon objections:
- He shot a girl in a flower-print hijab who was walking with other girls.
- Stabbed a wounded teen to death as he was being treated by medics.
- Shot an unarmed man in a white robe.
nytimes.com/2019/04/23/us/…
Gallagher "routinely parked an armored truck on a Tigris River bridge and emptied the truck’s heavy machine gun into neighborhoods on the other side with no discernible targets."
And Gallagher was just one of three Trump pardoned.
One murdered two civilians.
Another killed an unarmed Afghan.
And Gallagher who had been demoted.
