So I hate to be the bringer of bad news...

But when a local politician declares “the pandemic is over”

does the politician understand the definition of the word “pandemic”???

I’ll help.

Note: pandemic involves bigger area than politician controls Image
So. Let’s see how the “pandemic” is doing in...Brazil.

Nope. Not over. Image

THREAD (on poopy water... yes, I'm a child)

So now seems to be a good time, with cases creeping up, to remind folks the fact that wastewater...

yep... wastewater... continues to be tested.

Here's where you can find data:

h/t @Greg_Craig_US

cdphe.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashbo…
It's a decent indicator of potential trouble spots...

So, where might those trouble spots potentially be?

Southern Fort Collins stands out right now

(Note... data is a bit old)
Part of Colorado Springs too

I think it's fair to say not only is Derek Chauvin on trial...

...the prolonged use of prone restraint on handcuffed individuals is as well.

Officers have been warned not to do it for decades. Plaintiffs have secured, by our count, at least $120 million in damages

1/3
We've discovered at least 113 deaths that followed prone restraint.

Expert after expert has now told jury in #DerekChauvinTrial that, after handcuffs secured, prone restraint is no longer necessary

If jury believes it, ramifications for US policing are enormous.

2/3
Of the 113 deaths, only a couple of others have led to charges

this is ONLY murder case stemming from prone restraint

A conviction would send message to officers across the country
