THREAD: Accused Oath Keeper and Capitol Insurrectionist organizer Kelly Meggs wants to be released from jail, pending trial
But overnight, the feds told a judge Meggs hid the clothes worn at the Capitol on January 6th from federal agents. And can't be trusted
Prosecutors say Meggs hid some of the items he wore on January 6th before federal agents raided his house.
"This fact 'lessens' the reliability of Defendant Meggs complying with release conditions"
Ahhh.. but Meggs' defense lawyers say the feds simply "overlooked" some of the tactical gear and falsely claimed Meggs might have "destroyed" the items.
Here's the stuff. Does it seem likely federal agents could've overlooked this?
Meggs is accused of bragging about creating an "alliance" of far-right groups in advance of January 6
And he told others *this* would happen ===>
A DC federal judge will decide whether to hold Meggs in jail, pending trial. I'll keep you updated

Sen. Dick Durbin says whistleblower has revealed "in the immediate aftermath of the murder of Charlie Kirk, the FBI’s shooting reconstruction team was asked to fly to Utah to aid the investigation and process the scene. However, the team’s deployment was delayed by at least a day because of a Bureau plane and pilot shortage caused by the Director’s personal flights"
Sen. Durbin also says "The Director’s misplaced priorities and poor management of the FBI’s resources—including its aircraft—also harmed the FBI’s ability to respond to the shooting at Brown University on December 13, 2025. Once again, the shooting reconstruction team was set to respond to the scene immediately, but was unable to fly out of Richmond, Virginia, using one of the FBI’s planes."
