The diminutive 800cc Suzuki LJ80 4X4 was known by the German nickname Eljot. This 1982 brochure from Suzuki Deutschland portrays it, partly through cartoons, as the answer to every transportation need. #carbrochure#Suzuki
The Eljot/LJ80 was the final flourish of the first generation Jimny series, a kei 4X4 initially introduced in Japan in 1970 with a 360cc engine. This German brochure portrays it as an early lifestyle vehicle as well as a very capable off-roader.
By the date of this 1982 brochure, LJ80 production had ceased so it is slightly odd that the German importer was still promoting it strongly. On the back cover the SJ410 (the LJ's replacement, based on the second-generation Jimny) is described as the Eljot's 'bigger brother'.
