A group of approx. 50 demonstrators has gathered at the Capitol. On social media, demonstrators have promoted “Black Bloc tactics” including storing items at potential hotspots for tonight’s event.
Officers have located at least one duffel bag filled with rocks outside of a government building. Heavy police presence in the area as officers monitor the demonstration.

At this time, we have 2 reports of vandalism that occurred. 4 officers were transported to a local hospital for inj resulting from being sprayed with an unk liquid irritant. No arrests made, however investigators are following up on these incidents.

🚨SPD is attempting to locate a 14 yr old at risk missing juvenile.
Michael Achuson-Smith was last seen yesterday around 5 p.m., after he left his residence on foot in the 500 block of Rivergate Way (South Sacramento). Achuson-Smith is autistic and not familiar w/Sacramento area
He is pictured below. He is approximately 5’9, 145 LBS and wears glasses. His clothing description is unknown. His hair is in a “mohawk” style that is composed of dreadlocks on top and shaved sides.

The Sacramento Police Department today arrested 18-year-old Damario Beck, who has been identified as the shooter in last Friday’s homicide at Arden Fair Mall.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the shooting resulted from a verbal altercation between two groups of people that were known to each other from prior interactions.
Sacramento Police detectives are still investigating the incident and believe there are additional witnesses and involved parties. More details will be released as the investigation allows.
SPD officers are on scene of a shooting that occurred at Arden Fair Mall. Two shooting victims have been located and the suspect has fled the area. There is no active threat at this time. Police will remain in the area as the investigation continues.
