First off the Fmr FM himself. Who amongst other things was accused of attempted rape and tried in a criminal court. And whilst he wasn’t convicted, his lawyer admitted his behaviour wasn’t appropriate, and his accusers maintain their story.

He is not an ally of woman. (2/)

Next up is Chris McEleny, the lead candidate in West Scotland.

He has defended conversion therapy when Patrick Harvie called out the Catholic Church being linked to groups & has also implied that trans deaths aren’t tragic.

He is a danger to the LGBT community. (3/)

The sportsman, Alba’s Alex Arthur, whose described beggars as “pigs”. If Alba still support him after this, it definitely puts into question their commitment to challenging systemic issues of poverty & bigotry. (4/)

Lynne Anderson has been accused of supporting anti-trans organisations, and denying trans people’s rights to exist. Evidently the embodiment of a progressive party.. (6/)

Margaret Lynch has blatantly accused LGBT organisations of being pedophiles, that says enough in itself, but clearly she’s nuts & dangerous. (7/)

Another SNP NEC defect, Caroline McAllister too has bought into 1980s homophobia and transphobia, and likely has a tin foil hat to compliment this. She cannot be allowed into SP and is a threat to human rights. (8/)

Neale Hanvey, an MP, who before even getting elected was suspended from the SNP because of anti Semitic comments he had made. (10/)

Kenny MacAskill, another former SNP MP has wrote for and supports WingsOverScotland (alongside most other Alba candidates) - an account banned from social media for spreading hate, bigotry & misinformation. (11/)

Conclusions: this probably isn’t an exhaustive list of the problematic candidates they’ve fielded & it’s definitely not exhaustive of what candidates listed have said.

What’s clear is Alba poses a threat to progressive values, independence and human rights. #BothVotesSNP (12/)
