@algalitsky shares on behalf of the Armenian community:
"We all have our unique stories as to how we came here. We all have the trauma. We express our solidarity."
"In 2015 on the 100 year anniversary of the Armenian genocide, we held a large protest in front of the Turkish embassy. This might be the US recognition."
"Denial of a trauma is to reinforce that Trauma. When you are told it didn't happen and these people miraculously vanished, how are we to move on and mourn. We owe it to our fore-bearers."
"We want to see every genocide recognized. We stand for self determination."
HSC expresses our solidarity and thanks Alex for his participation in our conference today and his education on this painful past for Armenians.
Heart wrenching persecution:
"There was a deliberate policy of extermination. There was also systematic rape with the goal of breeding the Armenian out of these children. There was the abduction of children where their Armenian identities were stripped from then and converted."
"It was in both physical and cultural. And then there is also the church and temple destruction which continues to this day."

She shares her experience: "When I first started graduate school I wanted to research the high school curriculum that perpetuated bias and stereotypes."
Amongst the responses received were "This is how it was always taught."
"In order to eliminate the bias I had to find another route, I found the California texbook re-evaluation issue."
