Jimin would say he's quite lucky in that he has the most loving, supportive boyfriend to ever boyfriend.

Even when they don't see eye to eye, his Yoongi is patient, understanding and encouraging. But sometimes Jimin still struggles.

Yoongi has a career, a kid and was married.
And Jimin just feels, sometimes, like he's just playing house.

Other times, he feels like a glorified babysitter. They've been together for almost two years and hearing Noori call him daddy actually brought out the worst of his insecurities.

It took Yoongi months to trust him.
It makes sense, really. Jimin's always imagined that if he ever had children of his own, he'd likely be the same way.

After all, when they met, Yoongi had no intention of actually dating. He just couldn't resist Jimin's charms as it were.
Even though Jimin met the Min boys together, Yoongi was slow to open up and engage intimacy around Noori.

As much as Jimin loves his boyfriend and his boyfriend's son, sometimes it feels like he's an outsider looking in.

Yoongi does his best to include him but it's tricky.
They only recently moved in together and that might be more due to convenience than anything.

Noori needs a lot of support, especially with keeping track of his health. The little one is a trooper but it takes man hands on deck to be attentive to his needs.
So it's hard sometimes for Jimin not to feel like a babysitter or the nanny.

Especially when Noori has doctor visits and the few times he's had to be rushed to the ER.

Jimin can't make decisions despite being with Noori for most of those episodes.
Even if he could, he'd still defer to Yoongi.

He knows his boyfriend. The fact that Jimin loves his son so much makes Yoongi love him that much more. He's given him full trust. They've talked about boundaries but he still finds himself introducing Noori as his boyfriend's son.
His eomma encouraged him to talk to Noori about it. The little one shrugged saying he didn't mind.

But then he called him daddy the other day. And Jimin froze.

Noori hasn't called him that since but it's too late. Jimin already got in his own head.
/What if hyung and I break up?/

/What if hyung doesn't want to take this to the next level?/

/What if I want children of my own?/

/What if Noori resents me?/

They'd done a lot around making Noori feel comfortable with their relationship. But he can't help it.
When Jimin and Yoongi began, he knew right away. He could see himself spending the rest of his life with this man.

It took some ironing out. It's still taking that. But there's something deep down that makes him feel he's ready to take it to the next level.
Yoongi, on the other hand, has been a bit slower to move. It makes sense, especially with a child recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. And Jimin doesn't want to pressure him or himself. He just knows he's ready.

But he can tell Yoongi's comfortable like this.
He believes Yoongi when he says he never saw himself dating again, let alone potentially married.

Moving in had been a big deal but with Noori's health being a priority, it made the most sense, logistically.

Jimin almost feels like a fraud. An impostor who wiggled his way in.
He knows Yoongi loves him but would his boyfriend have asked him to move in together had Noori not needed extra support?

"Baby, I don't want you to worry about such things." The elder had said. "I want you here because I want you here."

But still, Jimin sometimes feels...
He sometimes feels lost, out of place.

His best friend, Taehyung, went through something so unexpected and tragic just before Jimin met Yoongi.

Losing a beloved cousin but gaining children as a guardian had been a lot to swallow. He doesn't equate himself to Taehyung.
But Tae assures him those feelings are the same, or at least remotely similar. They're soulmates, after all.

Jimin can rationalize Taehyung's feelings. He can't quite put much on his own.

A marriage doesn't necessarily prove much. But if they never do, what is he to Noori?
A ball whizzes passed his face, bringing him back to present. He watches as the kids giggle, chasing after it.

Noori's panting quite heavily so Jimin observes him for a while.

"Noonoo, baby slow down. Remember, we have to keep your blood sugar steady, yeah?"
The boy's head lobs as he nods before slumping his shoulders. Jimin can't imagine what's going through his mind but he knows it's hard. This is a lot for him to keep up with as an adult, so his heart just breaks every time Noori has to be reminded to be mindful of his movements.
The doctors assured them that if Noori continues on this routine, he'll still be able to have quality of life with minimal visits. For now, he has to tailor his activities until they get a consistent read on his levels.

The doctors encourage him to play and interact with kids.
The Taetae two, as Noori likes to affectionately call them, are aware and accommodating to Noori's needs.

But this is the first time they're inviting little Haneul to the mix.

"What's a blood sugar?" She asks, innocently.
Noori, every bit the tiny version of his appa, sits down and Jimin's glad to see him taking a break. They have to pay attention to whether or not he's hydrated.

"Every body has a body." Noori says, sagely and Jimin chuckles. "You has a body. I has a body. We all has a body."
"In the body, you gots lots of things like a heart and bones." And he points to these things. Haneul mimics his movements, intrigued.

The adults listened, quietly cooing, especially Hoseok.

"We all gots a pancreas. Mine can't do what other pancreases do. So I get tired a lot."
Haneul tilts her head. "What do pancakes do?"

"Not pancakes, pancreas, baby." Hoseok offers.

Still, Noori and Da-rae giggle with Haneul.

"I like pancakes! Noori's appa makes the best pancakes. Haneulie, you have to ask permission so you can come eat some!"
And just that fast, they're flanked by three pairs of big, pleading puppy eyes.

Jimin's so proud of Noori. Being 6 and having to explain a chronic condition is a lot. It was a lot for him as an adult to understand.

But Noori is so smart and Yoongi's such a great dad.
He knows it's a lot to understand, being only 6 but they do their best with making sure to help the child process.

They run off, all three linking hands and Jimin hears Da-rae say, "Noori-ah has to eat a snack before he plays with us so he doesn't get sick. Isn't that cool?"
Haneul gasps, "I want a snack! I like snacks."

"Jiminie hyung always brings extra snacks when we play so we can sit down have snacks together. You should ask your appa if you can play more with us." Noori adds.

"Yeah, you're fun and you have nice hair. I want hair like this!"
Noori sighs like a tiny old man. "I wanted more hair but appa says it'll get tangled, s'why it has to get cut. But maybe if I bring you to my house, he'll say different."

Then they're off plotting more world domination and the adults are left giggling.
"I'm really thankful that your pair are so inclusive to my Haneulie. I was a bit worried but Jiminie, you were right. They're really sweet kids." Hoseok mentions.

"When the accident first happened, it was Jimin's idea to help them bond over their differences." Tae says.
"It was hyung's idea, actually. When I met him at the park that day, he was listening in on their conversation. He noticed they also have some things in common too. Da-rae and Noori both lost a parent. Though Noori never met his eomma." Jimin adds.
He chuckles at the memory. "In a way, without much interference, they made their own baby support group."

Hoseok hums. "Wow. I was worried she wouldn't make friends. She's been struggling at the school my ex enrolled her in. And with us having split custody, I know right away."
"You don't have to share but I think Jimin and I both have some experience with worrying about the kids bonding with other kids." Tae offers.

Hoseok runs a hand through his hair.
"We're still figuring out the best schedule for her so sometimes it's hard to get time with my ex to talk but I think the kids tease her at school, you know?"

Jimin hums. He remembers sitting down with Noori one day when one of the kids teased him about the breaks he takes.
"She's new to the school and she stands out. Last night she told me some of them touch her and she doesn't seem to like it." He adds.

In a rare form of attendance, Tae-Hee removes their earbuds. "That's because they're racist and it's not okay to touch people without consent."
Taehyung and Jimin blink. Tae-Hee's been in that 'wouldn't be caught dead with adults' phase for a while. To hear them chime into the conversation is like witnessing a unicorn.

They shrug. "I'm just saying what you're all thinking." They say before going back to their game.
Jimin covers his face, giggling.

"Well, once again, Kim Tae-Hee solves the world's problems." Taehyung says in awe.

"You know? I've been wanting to find a way to feel more engaged with Haneul. This makes me feel like I can do... I don't know, feel more like a parent?"
"We do play dates at least once a week, you're welcome to join if you can." Tae says, trying not to ruffle the sleeping toddler on his lap.

"It's nice to not feel perfect. Like, you both seem to make me feel like it's okay that I have no idea what I'm doing enough."
Hoseok smiles, softly. "I like how supportive this feels."

Jimin gets it. If there's one thing he constantly questions, it's whether or not he is doing enough.

"I get you. I wish I felt like more-- like I'm not just babysitting my boyfriend's son..." He shares sheepishly.
Tae sighs. "I guess instead of trying to convince you differently, I'll just say I sometimes wish I wasn't a reminder to the kids that their parents are gone. I wish I had a different relationship with them if it means-"

Tae-Hee is looking at Taehyung so he stops.
"S-since you all feel not sure about being parents... w-what if you started like a supportive group w-where maybe you can help each other feel good about stuff." Then they look down at their feet.

Jimin brightens. "Yah! Tae-Hee-ah! You're such a genius. That's not a bad idea."
The preteen blushes. It's no secret that might have a slight crush on both Jimin and Yoongi. In fact, Taehyung was able to make progress with them opening up by allowing them to follow Jimin and Yoongi around like a lovesick puppy.

"How do you think we should do it?" Jimin asks.
Tae-Hee tries not to giggle at being addressed and included but looks up at Jimin, bright red across the face and says, "m-maybe you could have like some kind of club for single dads who feel like they don't know what they're doing?" Then shrugs, feigning nonchalance.
Jimin playfully bumps Tae-Hee who turns into a shy ball of goo before bouncing excitedly.

"What do you guys say? Our resident genius here got my juices flowing. I feel like I need a place to just... vent and not feel silly about it." Jimin mentions.
Hoseok hums. "To be honest, I could use some adult time to process this whole thing. I think it would help to be around other people with similar thoughts."

"I'm not sure when I'd have the time but I'd be down. Do you think we should open it up to more people?" Tae wonders.
Jimin tries to think. "Well, I don't really know any single parents. Do either of you?"

"My ex." Hoseok offers, snorting. "What about your boyfriend?"

Jimin feels awful that he hadn't even thought of his boyfriend. In fact, Yoongi would likely be more qualified, considering.
Yoongi is a dad. Jimin is not.

But he wants this. He wants bonding over his worries without feeling confined by them. Maybe it's selfish but he says, "maybe no boyfriends or exes?"

Hoseok shrugs, fair enough. "That works. We can schedule a time when Haneul's with him."
"Maybe we can ask around and recruit people but for now, let's map out time for the three of us. Or are we bringing the kids?" Tae asks, rocking the baby.

"You should have adult time. I-I can babysit... w-with Yoongi oppa." Tae-Hee offers, blushing.
Jimin giggles, leaning into his space. "I'll ask him to teach you that dish you wanted to learn." And Tae-Hee blushes even more.

"Okay so let's check in with hyung and pick a place we can meet up... like once a week?" Tae thinks.

They all talk over logistics before parting.
Jimin and Noori are finalizing some last minute shopping at the grocery store. Noori walks to the next aisle while Jimin debates on whether Yoongi meant yellow or white onions.

"Marco." He calls.

"Polo!" Noori responds.

He's almost deciding how many onions he needs.
"You should get a bottle." He hears Noori rasp in tiny.

Jimin startles when he hears an adult voice respond. "O-Oh, yeah. I was looking at those, do you know what kind?"

"This one's pretty." Noori mentions. "It's yellow. I like yellow like duckies."

"Right, you're smart, kid."
Attention shifted, Jimin throws all of the onions in his cart before rounding the corner fast.

"H-how many diapers are there...?" A tall man, or maybe a kid, Jimin's not sure, looks around shell shocked.

He sees Noori bent down at a carrier. "Get small ones for small baby."
"Some of them say newborn, some have numbers. How can I tell?" The man asks cluelessly, running a hand through his long dark hair.

Noori smiles, cooing at what Jimin now sees in the carrier. A baby. Specifically, a newborn.

"I dunno mister but my daddy Jiminie would know."
There it goes again. The second time. But Jimin's more concerned with why a grown adult might be consulting a 6 year old.

As he moves closer, he thinks maybe this is a teen. His vigilence lowers some.

Still, Jimin speak up, "Noori-ah, who's your new little friend?"
Noori beams a gummy smile, every bit the spitting image of his appa. "Daddy, it's a baby!" He squeaks. "A teeny tiny baby!"

Noori has always been fascinated by babies. He's completely enamored with little Jae-Eun so Jimin's actually not surprised he found this baby.
"Hey mister, this is daddy Jiminie, he knows a lot about teeny babies. He could help you with the diapers!" Noori adds, gently stroking the newborn's hair. "Daddy, he don't know what he needs for his baby."

The young man, possible teen, turns to him sheepishly.
His wide eyes look frightened and tired. Jimin offers a kind smile, unsure of what to make of the whole situation. He bows, politely and the young man does the same.

"First time babysitting?" He tries but the young man shakes his head. Jimin can see tears build in his eyes.
Before he knows it, in spite of their height and weight difference, the young man, really he might as well say kid, pretty much collapses in his arms in tears.

"Oh... oh. Uhh, it'll be alright. Take deep breaths, let it out." He offers gently but unsure. He rubs his back.
Yet his eyes are also still trained on Noori and the baby.

The kid lifts his head slightly, sniffling an apology in a whisper.

"What's your name, sweetheart?" Jimin probes, gently.

"J-Jeongguk."

Jimin tries to get the kid to look up. "Alright, Jeongguk. Is this your baby?"
Noori looks up, trying to decide whether or not he wants to cry. Jimin makes a quick funny face, making the boy repeat it with a giggle before playing with the baby again.

The kid keeps his head down, slightly while nodding. "I-I didn't know. I-I'm not ready..."

Oh.

/Oh./
"You have no idea what you're doing." Jimin says matter of factly to which the boy hangs his head in shame but affirms with a slight shake of his head.

"S-she won't drink the milk they gave me at the hospital. W-what if I can't feed her? W-what if she's sick?" He panics.
"Hey... hey Jeongguk-ssi. Slow down, yeah? Let's see what you have so far."

"I-I tried to look it up but... I-I don't have anything. I can't do this. My eomma's gonna kill me. I-I didn't know. I just..."

"Hey, hey... it's alright." Jimin offers, looking again at Noori.
Jeongguk sniffles again. He looks like he might start crying a second time.

"What's your budget like right now?" Jimin doesn't want to assume but the kid does look fairly young.

"I-I'm a gamer... I'm sponsored, t-that's not an issue." He offers shyly.

Well then.
"So it sounds like you're treating Noori-ah and I to dinner, hmm?" He tries to joke.

The kid looks miserable but tries to laugh between sniffles.

"Okay sponsored gamer, Jeongguk, why don't we start with some basic needs?"
Jimin ushers the kid around, navigating some essentials. He's trying to engage him in conversation but the kid has a far and away stare. This uncertainty feels slightly familiar to him even if way different.

"I-I can't do this... m-maybe you can take h-her?" He asks.
"I-I can barely take care of myself-" he continues in a whisper.

Jimin's eyes widen. 'Think, Jimin, think.' He tells himself.

"I'm not really Noori's dad. Not biologically. M-my boyfriend is his bio dad. And I just recently moved in. I never know what the fuck I'm doing."
Jeongguk's eyes widen.

"Daddy, you said a bad word!" Noori huffs, sitting on his bottom. Jimin reaches into his bag and hands the little one a snack. It's around that time.

"I know, baby. Daddy apologies. He has a chronic condition. He'll have it for the rest of his life.
When I first met and him and my boyfriend, I wasn't sure I could do this. In fact, even as I tell you this, I have no idea. And it's a lot. I have so much to learn every day. But the point is not to do this alone. So come, have you eaten?" Jimin asks and Jeongguk shakes his head.
"How'd you get here? Do you drive?" He continues.

Jeongguk rubs the back of his neck. "I-I walked over here from the hospital."

Oh.

/Oh./

Wow.

Jimin swallows, taking a breath. "Okay, you're coming with us. Don't shake your head, I'm the hyung. You'll both come with us."
"You're going to eat proper food. You'll have a warm shower and you're going to sleep. We have a guest room. We'll get you set up. My boyfriend, he's the real baby whisperer. I'm sure he still has some of Noori's old things for the baby. What's her name?"

"I-.."

"It's okay."
"Jimin-ssi... I-I can't..."

Jimin holds onto Jeongguk's hand. "Not alone. You don't have to do this alone. We'll get you situated for two weeks or so. In between that time, we can go grab some of your things where you live. But don't start this alone, okay?"
Jeongguk hesitates but then he nods reluctantly.

Jimin squeaks excitedly. "Noori, baby, let's help Jeongguk-ssi and get ready to go home."

"Do we get to have a baby now?" Noori asks, squeaking.

At this, Jeongguk actually laughs. "This is Jeongguk's baby and they're visiting."
"That's okay mister Jeonggukie-ssi, I'm going to take good care of your baby, 'cause daddy says I'm 'sponsible."

"It's responsible, love." Jimin giggles before helping Jeongguk check out.

He helps the younger learn how to strap the baby into the car properly.
Jeongguk has calmed considerably on the drive back to the apartment but he's still skittish. Like he'd bolt any minute.

The baby starts fussing when they arrive and Jeongguk panics.

"We're alright, Jeongguk-ah. This is how babies talk, that's all. She's alright." Jimin assures
Jimin takes the bundled baby out of the carrier to hand her to Jeongguk.

"S-she's so small. I-I'm scared..." Jeongguk confesses.

"Tell you what, I'll bring her inside. You grab the groceries. Noonoo, you run and push the button but not until I say go."

Noori nods excitedly.
He's been bouncing the entire time at the prospect of keeping the baby. He even sang to her even though she was likely sleeping in her carrier.

"We have to coordinate this otherwise it can get disastrous." Jimin shares with a chuckle.

Jeongguk has muscles. He grabs everything.
"Remind me to have you come around when I need some things done." Jimin teases.

They coordinate getting inside the building. Jimin signals for Noori to run and press the number on the elevator.

When they arrive to the apartment, the smell of cooking brings a smile to Jimin.
Before he can try, the door swings open. "Baby, I just went ahead without the onions. What took you so... oh!"

"We gots a baby! A teeny tiny baby!" Noori announces excitedly before pushing passed his appa to move inside.

"I ask for onions and you come back with a family?"
Jimin rolls his eyes at Yoongi, bouncing the now crying baby. "Love, go wash your hands. I need you to work your magic. We have guests."

"I see that." Yoongi says, opening wider. "Come, welcome to our home. I'm Yoongi-ssi. I hope these crumb snatchers didn't kidnap you."
Once they've entered in, shoes discarded and Jeongguk has lowered the groceries where directed, he bows, introducing himself and adding, "Jimin-ssi did kind of threaten me," with a soft giggle.

Jimin's eyes widen but he's being chided by his boyfriend, who takes the baby.
"She's a newborn." Yoongi says, surprised. "W-why are you out and about with..."

Jeongguk lowers his head after sitting on the couch. "I-"

"Jeongguk-ah is a new parent. /Very/ new. He just found out at the hospital, hyung." Jimin makes a point to emphasize his words.
Yoongi follows his words, eyes widening in understanding. "Jeongguk-ssi, the mother, she's...?"

"She left." Jeongguk says in a haunted way.

Yoongi nods, rocking the baby. "Jeongguk do you like pasta? I had to switch up the menu since I have no onions so I made pasta and steak."
His eyes widen as he nods.

"Excellent. Would you like to join Jimin and Noori with table setting or would you like to join me with checking her diaper?" Yoongi mentions, kindly.

Jimin's so hot for his boyfriend right now but he needs to focus so he motions for Noori to follow.
"I... you can show me?" Jeongguk asks quietly.

"Come, I'll show you the guest room. By the time I'm done with you, Jeongguk-ssi, you'll be a diaper changing wizard. And it's a bit easier when the baby doesn't have a penis. Projectile." He says, shaking his head.
