Meet George Kalichero, a young man from Mulanje district. George loves technology and he made his own windmill in order to power his home and others in his community however like many young people in Malawi, George has not received the support

promised to him by individuals and organizations which I know is a common story.

There was a story which is similar to George’s, and it got a lot of attention even a Hollywood film was made but the area in which the story came from still does not have electricity and George’s

dream is to improve the windmill so that there is better electricity for his village.

Well, I recently learnt about him through an online news paper and my management got in touch with him. I joined on a call from my house in Joburg and George was so excited when he learnt he was speaking to me, he could not believe it 😃🤷🏽‍♂️ ugh George we must change your name to..

Thomas Didimo now😛.

Anyway George is such a wonderful guy and I am excited to push his dream until it becomes true. I now know he is in safe hands, yesterday my management has introduced him to our engineer friends from Japan, South Africa and Zimbabwe who are working on a project in Malawi where

he will now get proper guidance, training and financial support to build a new windmill which will work a thousand times better.

The goal was to bring electricity for his community and so we are happy to join hands with George to make his dream come true. Being ambassador for Mulanje Mountain will not be a success if we do not work with key people in the communities who already have amazing solutions and

all they need is support. Where government needs to authorize we will help George get the right assistance and I will be visiting his home to make sure his new project is going well.

We look forward to seeing a better windmill which can now serve every home in your community George 👋🏾😃
