In connection with the abduction of 3 ONGC employees from Lakwa on 21.04.2021, three persons have been arrested so far who are found to be directly involved in the case in addition to some others linked with the banned organisation.

1. Biraj Chetia, S/o Brojen Chetia of Banipur, Dibrugarh, purchased the motorcycle used in the crime for ULFA(I) 2. Rahul Mohan, S/o Lt. Boloram Mohan of Moudumoni, Sepon for rendering logistical support for ferrying the motorcycle to the PO and providing other assistance.

3. Basanta Buragohai, a constable of 25th AP(ONGC) Bn for actively participating in the abduction and for being a part of the entire conspiracy along with two other bad characters apart from the ULFA(I) leaders.

Investigation indicates involvement of only 1 police personnel so far but anyone found directly or indirectly involved in this case will be seriously dealt with as per law. All relevant facts are bound to come out on debriefing of the apprehended Basanta Buragohain

So far Security Forces have been able to rescue 2 of the total three victims from near the India Myanmar border in Mon Dist., Nagaland. The rescued 2 are Alakesh Saikia and Mohini Mohan Gogoi. Efforts are going on to rescue the third victim. (2/4) #TerrorFreeAssam
