What a coincidence. In a major new report, Israel has been accused by Human Rights Watch for carrying out “crimes against humanity” with the use of a system of “apartheid and persecution” against the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank. 1/6
Simultaneously, in the week that police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of the murder of George Floyd, a devastating report published in the US has described police shootings of people of African decenct as “crimes against humanity.” 2/6
In both the case of Israeli state and the US police, the reports have called for a the culprit nations to be prosecuted at the International Criminal Court at The Hague. Unfortunately, that’s where my optimism ends. 3/6
Both the USA and Israel do not recognise the ICC. They’re in good company. Neither does China or Russia. Last year, the US imposed sanctions - including assert freezing, bans on entering the US and threats of arrest and prosecution against ICC chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda 4/6
and other colleagues investigating US war crimes in Afghanistan. (The investigations include my own testimony.) ICC prosecutors who seek to hold America and Israel to account are seen in the same light as terrorists and enemies of the state. That’s not a joke. 5/6
So much for being beacons of justice, accountability, freedoms and examples for others. Don’t expect anything. As far as they’re all concerned, the ICC is only for poor African and Asian nations and people. 6/6

One of the rioters killed by police in Washington identified as Ashli Babbit, a 14-year veteran who served four tours with USAF as a 'high level security official.' That means she took part in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia or Syria or in the rendition of prisoners to Guantanamo 1/4
or other secret prisons. Of course, none of that matters because she was serving her country. In fact, even those who oppose Trump probably praise her service record and would otherwise have seen her as a true patriot because of it. 2/4
Now that she's been identified as part of an "insurrection" against the very nation she claimed to serve I wonder if anyone will question the machinery and system that sewed her path to violent confrontation, like they've done with Muslims for the past two decades 3/4
Don't welcome news of any death sentence but, under his leadership Pakistan was used by CIA to kidnap people from their homes in the middle of the night, in front of their families. I will never forget the night Pakistani ISI and US CIA agents stormed
into my house in the middle of the night and shutting out my life for the next three years. Musharraf boasted in his book - published by the same people who published my book - that he received "millions of dollars in bounty money" for all those he handed over.
It was under Musharraf that Pakistani airspace was used to allow bombing missions into Afghanistan that killed thousands. It was under this man that war flared up in the KPK (NWFP) region and armed UAV (drones) began targeted assassinations and brutal internal conflict.
