I'll cover 2:30 detention hearing for Richard Barnett, the man photographed in Pelosi's office. I explain his case here--he turned himself in January 8 and has been in jail ever since. Barnett is in solitary in DC jail and reportedly was attacked by guards
About to get started. Judge Cooper is an Obama appointee and he’s married to a former top aide to Eric Holder.
Judge asks for update on discovery. DOJ says should have to defense next week. Barnett was arrested a few days after protest and has been in jail ever since so obviously so rush to put the case together.
Judge Cooper doesn't sound too happy with DOJ. Says he's been in jail almost four months and if this continues his final sentence could equal time served. Cooper wants government to move this along. Asking about plea--DOJ says government hasn't offered a plea deal.
Judge Cooper now challenging Barnett lawyer filing that argued January 6 protest was a rebellion by working class against ruling elite--he compared it to BLM. Cooper perplexed, says he thought January 6 was an attempt to overturn a stolen election.
Judge Cooper warns defense lawyer to stick to relevant cases including his ruling to release a January 6 defendant from pre-trial detention based on Munchel ruling by DC Appellate court.
Judge and Barnett lawyer debating walking stick/stun gun. Barnett lawyer says item wasn't operable bc no batteries were inside the device--he's not accused of using it just possessing it. Judge insists it's still a dangerous weapon.
Defense points out Barnett has no criminal record. Oh dear God, Judge Cooper repeating DOJ claims Barnett is a QAnon follower. Even if he was, how is this a crime or relevant to denying him bail? Lawyer refuting it
Government argues Barnett is still a threat to society. HIs release poses a "danger" because he'll bring weapons into public places and to halt government activity he disagrees with. Judge reminds DOJ he wouldn't just walk out the door, any release would be conditional
Judge asks what court orders he's violated. DOJ can't answer--pushing for more details supporting his "dangerousness." DOJ claims he hid evidence when his common law wife hid the clothes he wore. The guy turned himself in.
Judge Cooper says he doesn't see a lot of "daylight" between Barnett case and Munchel case, which court is bound by--DOJ says Munchel didn't steal mail from Nancy Pelosi and leave her a mean note. LOL
Judge Cooper, who was very fair IMO, taking a 5 minute break before announcing his decision. Could go either way but seems he might cite Munchel as reason for release.

Government now showing video evidence. Many defense lawyers complaining that feds are cherry-picking video. Just now, government “skips” over part of full video. Khater lawyer raises objection amgreatness.com/2021/04/26/the…
DOJ argument is that after Khater allegedly sprayed the pepper spray or whatever it was, it disabled 3 cops and therefore they aided the raid on the Capitol. But video also shows a massive cloud of chemical spray beforehand. Winds were 20 mph that day per a separate filing.
Tanios lawyer also now objecting to DOJ cherry-picking of video evidence. Claims feds are omitting exculpatory comments.

I honestly cannot believe our government is wasting time on this.

It wasn't just leftist corporate media who lied about January 6 fatalities. Let's look at NRO:

"Authorities have arrested more than 300 people in connection with the Capitol riot, which left five people dead, including a U.S. Capitol Police officer."

"The House voted to impeach Trump after he incited a mob of his supporters to amass at the Capitol, after which the mob breached the building and forced lawmakers to evacuate. One Capitol police officer died after being injured by rioters."
"He watched idly as the rioters sacked the people’s House, defaced the legislative branch with urine and feces, interrupted the operation of government, and caused death and destruction."

On the 100 day *anniversary* of the Unarmed Interruption, I’d like to repost some of my columns.

This from January 11: “The incendiary rhetoric about January 6 combined with widespread deplatforming is reason to bolster those fears” over invalid election. amgreatness.com/2021/01/11/cap…

When you see crocodile tears from Senate Republicans SHOCKED at Biden's radical agenda, remember how many voted to empower this fast-moving disaster.

GOP Senators who confirmed the most Biden cabinet picks: Collins (all 21 so far); Murkowski, Portman, Romney (19); Graham (17)...
Grassley, McConnell, Rounds, Capito (16); Blunt, Fischer, Burr, Cornyn, Johnson (15); Sullivan, Rounds, Tillis (14).

Hawley voted against 19, Cruz, R. Scott against 18.

They don't even know how to use the little leverage they have. GOP owns this wreck of an administration, too.
But hey some good news! They did torpedo Neera Tanden because she tweeted mean things about them. At least Senate GOP makes they priorities obvious for all to see.

Listening to FDA/CDC call. This clot has been found in women ages 18-49. One patient died, one in critical condition. FDA will revise fact sheet to include adverse reaction info. Says events are extremely rare.
Doctors are advised that people who present low platelet count should inquire whether the patient has been vaccinated with JJ shot.
Meeting tomorrow to review data. Keep in mind this vaccine has only been widely available for less than 2 months.

Admits “many people” experience fever, headaches, pain, etc after all vaccines.

Advises anyone who has severe symptoms to JJ go to doctor.
