Story for all you dog lovers: I took...well, dragged...Shep on a walk this afternoon. He needs an extra walk away from his 16 year-old sis, but recently when the leash comes out in the afternoon, he literally tries to blend into the couch.
1/
Anyway, we were walking at the harbor and I saw an older couple - a woman helping her husband who was laboring with a can. The husband had a US Marine vet hat (Shep's kind of guy).
The wife was also carrying an almost full bag of bread crumbs -
2/
presumably meant for the seagulls and ducks and egrets. And I noticed that she looked quite sad. Shep noticed her too; although for a different reason - he spotted the bread crumbs.
So Shep walked over to the vet, and oh man, did his face light up.
3/
He asked what kind of dog Shep was (mix from Tennessee), how old he was (because I mentioned he was made to go on the walk because he was getting chunky), and then he asked if it was okay and his wife filled his trembling hand with bread crumbs, which he then threw
4/
on the ground, and Shep immediately vacuumed up.
Then he patted Shep, and as they continued to walk to their car, both of their demeanors lightened. Shep and I kept walking and I cried a little under my aviators.
5/
It was a reminder how little kindness takes; but how much we all need it right now. 💙💜

"Investigators are examining whether Mr. Gaetz violated federal sex trafficking laws."
womp womp.
"the examination of Mr. Gaetz, 38, is part of a broader investigation into a political ally of his, Joel Greenberg, who was indicted last summer on an array of charges, including sex trafficking of a child and financially supporting people in exchange for sex."
"Joseph Biggs, one of four Proud Boys organizers charged in one of the Justice Department’s biggest cases stemming from the Capitol siege, said the bureau regularly turned to him for advice on antifa." politico.com/news/2021/03/3…
Strange how many Proud Boys seem to have been cooperating with law enforcement in the past. Tarrio too.
...when "Biggs learned the FBI had obtained images of him inside the Capitol, he reached out to the same agent and made plans to turn himself in."
Dominion Voting Systems filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News, alleging the network purposefully aired false claims about the the company’s role in the 2020 election to boast ratings. GET THEM!!!
Their so-called hosts should also be sued for false information on this, and all the unnecessary sickness and death they caused with misinformation on the pandemic.
If you want to get rid of Fox News, this is how you do it! Make your calls today to cable providers. They make their money from those subscriptions as they lose advertisers! wnycstudios.org/podcasts/otm/s…
I don't understand why our media is exclusively micro-focused on Cuomo, while not seeking out a single victim of Cawthorn and Jackson to speak out. WAPO spoke to 150 former Cuomo staffers - how many did you reach out to for the GOP Congressmen? Zero?
I mean if you live in NY, you know all about Cuomo and his temperament. But now you're delving into his temper, but not doing a single piece of reporting on GOP sexual assault? Yes we want to hear from victims. We want to hear from ALL victims, & ALL should he investigated!
I didn't vote for him because of his temperament-I voted for Nixon. But for crying out loud-we're in the middle of a pandemic-let the man do his job! Let victims be heard and let AG James run an investigation. The level of media bias in not covering Cawthorn & Jackson is insane!
Do the right thing on vaccines folks. Wait your turn. People in underserved communities, those in a position to be exposed at work, and those who have pre-existing conditions need to go first.
Of course folks who are older and meet their state criteria should also have priority too.
But so many privileged white people are gaming the system. Stop.
And of course when you are eligible, please get vaccinated as soon as you can.
Cuomo speaking out for the first time, saying he encourages women to come forward, and apologized for what he did, saying he felt "awful" and "embarrassed."
Cuomo adds "I never touched anyone inappropriately," and "I never knew at the time I was making anyone feel uncomfortable."
Now we'll wait for Republican members of Congress, Madison Cawthorn and Ronny Jackson to acknowledge and apologize.
