1. I got an invitation from @ndakaripa to visit @cmashx a young farmer in the outskirts of Harare, Zimbabwe. Instead of reporting live, I was struck by the audaciousness of what this youngman has done with a clear vision in the farming sector. Welcome folks

2. Let me say @cmashx journey of perseverance in farm life presents a story in the making. One year full-time farming, having been a manager at a large farm export facility is shaping his learning-by-doing.

3. This is a milestone envisioned with a combination of hard lessons of trying, failing & picking the pieces in tough farm life. A family farm enterprise that has seen him being an able successor to a life well lived with strong parental support. Often a key link, underestimated

4. Oh well, my mind and reality of the hard and often painful farming business remains a huge opportunity. We all liked the idea of the #100YouthFarmerProject🇿🇼 because farming is an unexplored wealth creating venture that though is often tough.

5. I had a light joke with @lindagabriel263 about “phantom cabbage riches” 😂. But @cmashx gave me and @ndakaripa a brutal lesson of what can be done with basic resources of land, water, parental & family support. A young person has left the luxury of the city to a farm life

6. Instead of crying too loud about money, I always remind on the imperatives of “stay on the farm” for success. To get it going, Clarence has a rich 5 year history of part-timing, when he finally decided to settle at the family farm. He made his parents disbelieve😆

7. Though he is specializing in horticulture, he has done the unthinkable by joining the maize 10t-club with Seedco 659 on 3 hectares. He convinced his parents to abandon the thinly spread out production system towards an intensive culture of production

8. While one can do precision controlled farming, with high capital investment, this need not be a hindrance. Diverse production &marketing, can deal with the capital conundrum that faces the farm sector. Money supply is too expensive, so start kasomething with what is available

9. This is exactly his answer to farm capital formation, in which he gains profits to-invest. So long there is water perfectly harvested the 💰 maths ties up. Here science is at play, given his deep understanding of climates, business, timing, consistency, quality assurance

10. When you start farming, he said “don’t do gundamusaira” &social media farming. His words are profound, that is try, learn, network, ask, be happy 😃, be tactical in a constraining market system with “aggregator sharks” to deal with. One can’t wish perfectionism at once🤷🏿

11. I was most pleased that he also followed my farming journey. He vividly remembers the man in worksuits 😅. I said, but I am not as big a farmer as him. I probably, won’t even get to what he has done. He has time, patience, passion, belief and acts through learning

12. Yes I got firm assurance that #100YouthFarmerProject🇿🇼 is a proposition of reality. The networking of ideas and working the #Munda_pabasa and #ZimAgricRising is achievable. It needs the mastering of ideas, laying the foundations & investing all efforts to create farm wealth
