The Battle of Badr: [A Long Thread]
***MUSLIM ARMY***

-Total: 313 soldiers (82 Muhajireen; 231Ansar)

- 6 armors & 8 swords

- 70 Camels & 2 horses ( One was of Miqdad bin Aswad R.A who commanded the left flank & other was of Zubayr R.A who commanded the right flank)
***Quraish Army***

Total: 1000 soldiers (950 according to some scholars)

->600 armored soldiers, all with swords

-> 700 camels & 300 horses
Picture of both armies camp at the Badr
***Tactics used by Muslims in the Battle***

1) Use of 'range weapons' to create a massive impulse.

2) Use of 'melee weapons' to create fear.
Way to Badr:

The arrow marks in the pic depicts the long route taken by Abu Sufyan to protect his caravan from the Syria to Mecca, the route taken by Amr ibn Hisham (Abu Jahl) from Mecca to Badr and the route taken by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Muslims from Medina to Mecca.
Saad bin Muaz (R.A) said to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) -

"If you were to ask us to throw ourselves into the sea, we will do that most readily and not a man of us will stay behind. We do not deny the idea of encounter with the enemy. ++
....We are experienced in war and we are trustworthy in control. We hope that Allah will show you through our hands those deeds of bravery which will please your eyes. Kindly lead us to the battlefield in the name of Allah."
***Preparations of Muslims***

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) had given strict orders to not begin an attack without his sole permission.

Muslims blocked a well which was closest to the Quraish army

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) spent the whole night of 16 Ramzan praying near a tree.
***Shortcomings of Quraish***

1) They lacked the time to prepare for a proper campaign.

2) They were overconfident & too aggressive.

3) They underestimated the Muslim army.
***Battle Results***

- Meccan suffered huge losses;70 dead & 70 captured.

- 14 l Muslims were martyred.

- This was the first decisive victory of Muslims in a full-scale war.
***Martyrs of The Badr***
****Implications of The Badr***

- Prophetﷺ emerged as a strong military commander & a leader.

- Ali (R.A) popularity rose as a brave warrior.

- Indication of emergence of a new power.
***Punishment for Prisoners of War***

70 prisoners were taken captive who were treated humanely including many Quraish leaders. Most of the prisoners were released upon payment of ransom. ++
.... & those who were literate were released on the condition that they teach ten persons how to read and write and this teaching was to count as their ransom.
***Key takeaways from The Battle of Badr***

1) Muslims were defendants not belligerents.
2) Asking for help only from Allah & obeying their leader - Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
3) Muslims had good faith, trust & patience... ++
4) Adherence to Islamic principles & values.
5) Establishing justice & equality for all.
***Moral from The Battle of Badr***

The Battle of Badr teaches us Allah's help will come definitely when we sacrifice, have faith and put our trust in him.
Typo - 14 Muslims were martyred*

400 acres of Waqf land in #Malkajgiri worth Rs.10,000 crores was lost as no advocate from Waqf board attended the final argument in Hon'ble HC. This is grave situation and heights of corrupt practices within waqf board.

High time to reform Waqf board.

Since 1995, 10,000 acres of Waqf lands were vanished because of incompetent Waqf board.
If board could have saved the Waqf lands, then Muslims doesn't even need the budget from the government.
Many families could have been economically uplifted

Recommendations:
1) Waqf board needs to have quasi-judicial powers on the line of tribunals and it should be headed by former judge of HC with utmost reputation
2) Annual audits by state CAG
3) Regular survey of Waqf lands
4) Putting list of properties in public domain
