📢🚨📢 The occupiers have been served with notice of a hearing for an Interrim Possession Order (IPO), an eviction order which carries a custodial sentence if breached.
FULL STATEMEMT ATTACHED, KEY POINTS IN THREAD (1/5)
The heavy-handed legal nature of this approach is demonstrated by the Uni of Sheffield being the only University attempting to clear a 2020/21 Rent Strike occupation out using the courts. (2/5)
It is utterly farcical that they threaten us with academic sanctions and *prison* without even having met with the occupiers! (3/5)
Furthermore, a statement by the SU President calling on us to end the occupation was used as part of the evidence for the court order, even after the Sheffield SU voted 45-0 in favour of the Rent Strike and our demands. (4/5)
Whilst the occupation will be forced to end when the IPO is served, the Rent Strike is growing every day and will not stop until our demands are met. (5/5)

we'd really appreciate it if you could do some general "omg this is so dodgy" style posting, cheers :)
