Proud boys are providing security

There are about 150 people here, 50 of them proud boys flying the colors: some have fred Perry’s, some have tactical gear, some have proud boy bandannas covering their face.

There are no counter Demonstrators, proud boys are roaming the park, many of them armed, but there is no tension.

Proud Boys Oregon Vice President Flipp Todd says they hope to elect proud boys to local office.

A speaker brings some of the children onstage:

“What do you have to say to Governor Kate Brown?”

Los Angeles immigration protest day 3 🧵

A crowd of several hundred protesters are outside the federal building. The California National guard and Federal agents are in formation in riot gear.

Someone in the crowd threw something and an officer fired a pepper ball, briefly setting the crowd scurrying.

LAPD declare an unlawful assembly outside the federal building. They warn protestors that they have 5 minutes to disperse.

New: CHP isn’t supposed to aim less-lethal munitions at protesters’ heads and fire into crowds. It did at UCLA.

We found at least 25 instances in which officers appeared to aim their weapons at the eye-level of protesters or fired them into crowds.

Law enforcement officers across the state are trained that these types of munitions “shall not be aimed at the head, neck or any other vital organs,” according to guidelines from California Commission on Peace of Officers and Standards Training.
