We start by learning that the term water "use" is vague.

Energy depends on water and fossil fuels.
Oil and gas extraction activities can lead to water contamination.

First, this class requires a fair amount of discussion, which is not always high on some students' list at 8:00 AM.
There's also an individual paper and video assignment, which can be a challenge.
