Now that Swiss is complete, it's time to take a look at what cards over and underperformed in lists this weekend!
Note: These statistics are all applicable to this specific tournament meta only; do not assume any performance will carry to ladder or other tournaments. YMMV.
One newer approach that worked out for Aggro Paladin this weekend was including cards like Taelan Fordring or Redscale Dragontamer to guarantee access to Alex to end the game, as did Sunwell Initiate. Greedier inclusions like Moonfang and Cairne underperformed at Orgrimmar.
It's hard to read into Control Priest stats given it drew 50% of bans, but it's interesting that C'thun overperformed this weekend, which maybe implies that it's better against decks intended to target Priest specifically. Lists with Nameless One also significantly overperformed.
Control Warlock was a relatively underrepresented archetype that settled at around a 50% win rate, but 1/4 of lists brought contained Mo'arg Artificer, and those lists averaged a 58% win rate this weekend; maybe the extra healing from lifesteal spells was enough?
Rush Warrior lists are still being refined, but 20 out of 274 players decided to bring a list with Cairne Bloodhoof, and those lists significantly overperformed versus the average Rush Warrior. Venomous Scorpid is a card that's gone in and out of the deck, but that did well also.
Secret Rogue underperformed compared to the full Tempo version of Rogue, but the lists that behaved closer to a hybrid and included Field Contract and/or Brain Freeze did better than average (even though they still didn't crack into positive win rates).
Meanwhile, the secretless Tempo Rogue list was fairly stable, but Ticket Master seemed to give the deck a bit more juice versus the decks it faced in this tournament meta. Swashburglar was only in 10% of lists, but those lists significantly underperformed versus the rest.
