May I suggest that to offset this, we capture the Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) that we all breathe out, separate the elements, release the Oxygen (O₂) to replenish the environment, and use the leftover Carbon (C) to make diamonds.
Alternatively, we could remove Nitrogen from the air, to get Oxygen. Then remove Hydrogen from water (H₂O) to get more Oxygen. The Nitrogen & Hydrogen can then be combined to form Ammonia (NH₃) which is useful as a fertiliser.
