1/ I am no Hindu scholar, but in my late teens and early 20s I had devoted a lot of tie reading Vivekananda, translations of Upanishads, Vedas, and a few more Hinduism books.
Fortunately I stopped. But, I could identify bigots from the so called practising Hindus.
2/ @hussainhaidry is 100% right in identifying these bigots. They have never studied a scripture. At best they recite a Chalisa here or a random shloka there.
They worship powers, money, influence. They will indulge in corruption at the drop of a hat.
They are bigots.
3/ They are Islamophobia enmasse, as they are BJP supporters. 99% BJP supporters are Islamophobic. They will abuse Muslims casually as if it’s a game.
Sadly, they grow in broken families, where kids are beaten, women are subservient and casteism rules.
Multiple red flags.
4/ First of all most Hindu bigots talk about an imaginary past: milk flowing in river, prosperity, advanced maths and medicine, planes etc.
They have been told by random sanghi uncles that Muslim invasion destroyed the golden bird India.
They as much despise Bahujans.
5/ The only thing which can check their bigotry is strong laws and consequences when not adhering to them.
These people are scared, fearful and bullies. The moment they know there will be consequences, they will stop.
So, it’s time that each one of us stands up to them.
6/ If we deny 800 years of composite culture, art, architecture, music, food, festivals, we as a civilisation will be left with an imaginary latticework.
Islam has enriched our subcontinent as other religions and cultures have over thousands of years.
Let’s not deny that.
