118 days after the Jan. 6 insurrection, the @washingtonpost is currently promoting Josh Hawley's book in a livestream as if he hasn't spent months pushing the biggest lie in American history

There will never be consequences for any of these Republicans. The news media loves them
I'm not joking - @Cat_Zakrzewski just said the "falsehood that the election was stolen" is a litmus test for the Republican Party and then asked JOSH HAWLEY - the top senator who pushed the lie - "Is that bad for the party?"
"Do you think Liz Cheney should be removed from leadership?" was her next question

"Would you support former President Trump running for office in 2024?" was the next one

"If he runs would you run against him?"

what the fuck is this @washingtonpost I mean holy fucking shit
@washingtonpost Holy fucking shit this was one of the most tone-deaf things I’ve ever seen a reporter do

Let’s ask Josh Hawley who just tried to have a bunch of people in Congress murdered what he thinks about running in 2024
godddd damn there is just no effort at all to stop misinformation in media

just none whatsoever other than like 8 people

everyone else is just "let's fucking hang out with that guy who tried to murder us"
The Washington Post is helping Josh Hawley and all Republicans erase their history as Big Liars who promoted damaging lies like this every day for months to brainwash millions of people with misinformation and they won't face a single consequence for it
I just got an email from @washingtonpost PR bragging about how they platformed this insurrectionist liar with clips of all the lies he said, thanks so much for your great work helping misinformation spread in mainstream media
They can't say it publicly which sucks but the legitimately wondrous journalists at the Post who do critical and investigative pieces exposing bad people are having a lot of their work undermined by fucking bullshit like this that is plainly indefensible in a journalism setting
The WP's video promotion for Josh Hawley's book included a bio written by Josh Hawley's book publisher

There is legitimately no defense of this and the @washingtonpost should obviously apologize but also clearly explain why they are erasing Hawley's history as an insurrectionist
@washingtonpost Pretty cool that this just happened today and nobody did fuck about it and tomorrow it’ll be like it never happened

CBS News again adopts Republicans’ propaganda language — “tighten voting laws” — instead of calling it voter suppression because this network is literally run by Republicans
During the Jan. 6 insurrection, Republican operatives running CBS News told their journalists not to call it an insurrection or a coup, but to call it a “protest” because there were supposedly “peaceful” Trump supporters there
One month after the insurrection, CBS News invited one of the top insurrectionists, Lindsey Graham, on its Sunday show and didn’t bring up a single time — literally not once — the fact that Graham tried to throw out Black votes in Georgia while spreading the Big Lie

Are staffers at the @washingtonpost saying anything about their newspaper platforming and promoting Josh Hawley's book after he incited an insurrection and propagated the biggest lie in American history about a stolen election to brainwash millions of people?
@washingtonpost “Democracy Dies in Darkness” vs. “Is Democracy Actually A Good Thing?”
@washingtonpost Big day for the anti-democracy chunkheads at the washington post

You: “History will remember”

Politico: What if we had a picnic with every single fascist who voted to overturn the election Image
The rest of today’s @playbookdc appears to be cobbled-together GOP talking points personally cobbled together by Ronna McDaniel ImageImageImageImage
Here’s what Republicans think, they’re honest people with no history of lying. Here’s what Mike Pence will say, he’s an honest person with no history of lying. Here’s what Trump is up to, ❤️ ImageImageImage

Rick Scott incited the Jan. 6 insurrection and literally voted to overturn the election *after* the deadly coup attempt

You were told “history will remember” the insurrectionists who cast this vote, but tomorrow @ABC has invited him onto its Sunday show as if it never happened
Since Jan. 6, @ThisWeekABC has rewritten the history of major Republicans who spread the Big Lie and tried to overturn the election

@ABC is not just complicit in Republicans’ misinformation campaign. They are willing and active partners pushing the Big Lie almost every week
Last week Rick Scott publicly endorsed everything Trump has done since Jan. 6—spreading the Big Lie more than ever—then went on the white supremacist conspiracy outlet Newsmax to broadcast racist propaganda

@ABC has decided this liar’s actions should be legitimized and rewarded

If the news industry en masse wanted to provide a more accurate account of what happened or what likely happened then it makes objective sense to ban "police say" and use "police claim" and also "Republicans claim" because it's the exact same thing defector.com/police-say-a-l…
There is plainly no good-faith defense of not doing this after reaching critical mass in the number of statements the police and Republicans have put out deliberately lying while knowing they will have their lies printed because journalists feel obligated to "attribute" them
Your default defense is probably "we can't have one set of rules for Republicans and one set of rules for Democrats" but guess what you absolutely can because one of them has forfeited the right to the benefit of the doubt yet you keep blasting out Kevin McCarthy press releases

Three mass shootings in three days

After 20 kids died in Sandy Hook, Democrats tried to prevent mass shootings with gun laws. The House speaker, John Boehner, said fuck off

Anyway enjoy @chucktodd praising Boehner this morning for being a sensible man because he has a new book
Chuck Todd, a Republican and host of the highest-rated Sunday show, believes his job is to equally blame Democrats for not stopping gun violence
Chuck Todd helps Boehner spread the lie that it was a group of “knuckleheads” who took the GOP in a bad direction and not he as House speaker who embraced the racism of the tea party and stopped any chance of gun control because he doesn’t care who lives or dies
