The psychological impact of post covid recovery is hardly being talked about. Its been months since my reports came out negative and a months time since my mental health being disturbed because of Anosmia. 1/7
All my life I haven't had the slightest worry about my senses and I took it for granted like any other human.
To those who aren't aware of what an Anosmia is, it is the complete loss of smell. Without this, even the sense of taste is affected. It is not a dangerous situation 2/7
however if the house is on fire or the gas leaks, or the food is rotten your sense is of no alarming use.
The reduced sensitivity is making my relationship with the world around sour. I can't smell anything at all and I feel this way my depression is relapsing.3/7
Last night my made cooked chicken for me, however, it was impossible to tell if the chicken was cooked well or not without her assistance as my olfactory senses were impaired.
It's so important to take care of your health and appreciate the little joys in form of fragrances.4/7
I wish we had some sort of pendrive where we would store fragrances and it's memories associated with it.5/7
I don't know if I would ever get my sense back but I really want you all to take care of yourself and be cautious.
Recovering from COVID is not a big deal, losing the sense of taste and smell is devastating6/7
A person who enjoyed the smell of old books, freshly ground coffee, aromatherapy, and amazing food - having medically stripped of that privilege is beyond devastation.
P. S:- Anosmia and Parosmia are real. Please be safe out there. PLEASE!7/7
