Good morning all. I will be live tweeting my AstraZeneca experience this morning. I am at the UM centre for my 9am appointment. Parked at 8.30am. Lots of easy to follow signs the moment you drive into UM. #AstraZeneca
Could see a lot of people were here very early ahead of their slot. Everyone excitedly heading into the UM exam hall building. #AstraZeneca
Scan your MySejahtera and then show the people at the entrance your AZ appointment on the app. And we are heading in. #AstraZeneca
I am now waiting at Station 1. The general waiting area. This was at 8.40am. So many people are here already. I see all ages. It is also sad to see so many elderly here where they should already be able to be in the phase 2 rollout. #AstraZeneca
I am number 71. Still waiting at Station 1. But very efficient. At 8.45am, people are being advanced through the stations already. #AstraZeneca
Moved on to Station 2. This is the proper registration counter. Get your MySejahtera app out to be ready to scan your AZ specific QR #AstraZeneca
You will need your AZ appointment page on MySejahtera and to scan this QR code. Answer some basic questions. We are through Station 2! #AstraZeneca
Very fast Station 3. Tick through the consent form and sign. You are being assessed whether you need a 15 minute monitoring after or a 30 minute monitoring after the jab. #AstraZeneca
Where the magic will happen. Station 4. 10 cubicles for very fast injections. Moving through the stations too quickly. Can’t tweet fast enough #AstraZeneca
I have received my first AZ jab already. I didn’t even feel the needle going in. I am vaccinated (first dose)! #AstraZeneca
The only hiccup in the process so far. Right after the jab, you have to look for a specific counter to use your AZ QR code. A bit of confusion over here. Remember which cubicle you went into and tell the officer. Need to log in your AZ code into the app. Done! #AstraZeneca
The AZ QR code in MySejahtera will confirm your first dose. Then only leave the station. #AstraZeneca
You have to be responsible to time your own 15 minutes wait or the 30 minutes wait after the jab. I have finished my 15 minutes. Off to the final station #AstraZeneca
Ah. I see my MySejahtera AZ details updated already. My 15 minutes wait time is up. I feel completely fine #AstraZeneca
The final station. To get your vaccine card. Very smooth process from start to finish. No major hiccups despite it being the first day of roll out and being the first few people. Great job to the officers and volunteers at the UM station #AstraZeneca
I look forward to being back at UM in 12 weeks time. No appointment date is fixed yet. Your MySejahtera app will push out the appointment date. #AstraZeneca
Don’t forget to take the obligatory photo booth shot after you exit the hall. #AstraZeneca
Right now, I only feel a very slight soreness on my left arm from the injection. I will update if I feel any side effects and I will also update this thread at the end of today.
Didn’t realise that I should have used #CucukMYAZ ? Entered the UM hall at 8.40am, longest wait was 30 minutes at the Station 1 waiting area, and out of the hall just after 10am. Am sure the roll-out will only get smoother. Praise to the organisers and the MySejahtera system
A number of you have asked. No, you don’t immediately get your 2nd dose appointment. Final station officer said it will be at the 12-week mark. Wait for MySejahtera to push out the appointment date. After 1st dose, you will see your app updated #CucukMYAZ #AstraZeneca
Started a separate thread to detail the (mild) side effects I now have several hours after my jab. Hope everyone has a smooth AZ vaccination experience! #CucukMYAZ

Thought I should create a new thread solely for any side effects after my AstraZeneca first dose today. I tweeted earlier my experience at the UM centre. Here is how I have been feeling after.
#CucukMYAZ
Received my AZ jab at around 9.30am. There was no immediate soreness. I barely even felt the needle go in. Within 1 hour, I could feel slight soreness in my left arm near my injection area.
#CucukMYAZ
Within the next 1-2 hours, the very slight soreness and now very slight numbness also spread down to my little finger. It wasn’t uncomfortable and I was still happily eating my brunch after the UM visit #CucukMYAZ

1. A thread on Malaysian law blogs I have come across. Some more established and some by newer writers. Good to see this scene thrive. Let me know if there are other blogs and do tag the authors of the blogs.
2. The blog of @FCLCo Articles on IP, IT, data privacy and franchise laws. The grandaddy on this list as the blog was set up in April 2011. foongchengleong.com

My thoughts on the Malaysian legal job market in next 6 to 18 months for law graduates and young lawyers. Here’s a thread and with tips.
1. For graduates, I think M’sian firms will be cutting down on available pupillage spots and the honorarium payment.
2. The escalating competition for pupillage pay will stagnate for a while. Before this, the top pupillage pay in KL was more than many 1st year associates.

3. There will be far less positions to retain pupils. A general sense of a hiring freeze now.
4. For foreign university graduates, it will be tougher to secure training contracts and employment overseas. I saw this during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. More foreign graduates returned to Malaysia for pupillage and for jobs.

So I just had the most efficient court hearing ever. Court application filed and with an unaffirmed supporting affidavit. Gave undertaking to file affirmed affidavit after movement control lifted. Yesterday, court asked parties to email any of their submissions or responses.
There were no objections by the other parties. So no need for any further affidavits. Last night, we emailed the Judge and Registrar, and to all parties, the speech format of reasons for what we were seeking. Other parties emailed over their statements in reply too.
Cut-off time for this exchange was 9.30am this morning. At 11am, the Judge emailed all to take into account all the statements and court papers. He granted order in terms of our application. The Registrar then emailed to formally close the proceedings.

Thread: I attended the Selangor Bar Civil Law Conference on Friday 14 February. The CJSS spoke on the Judiciary’s move to a paperless environment for the appellate Courts.

The Federal Court and Court of Appeal Judges will soon be operating from their iPad devices. 1/8
Records of Appeals and written submissions will all be uploaded on to the Judges' devices. References to documents will be projected up on to their screens.

The CJSS also shared that this will also change the way lawyers present their written and oral arguments. 2/8
It would make sense for lawyers to also get used to reading and operating from their iPad or tablet device. Written submissions should contain clickable links or easy references to schedules already contained within the written submissions. 3/8
