#63 Ji Ji -
Water Over Fire
Transition from chaos to order. The Journey is not over. As you cross the river, the river bank is not your final destination.
The oracle of Already Across –
‘Already across, creating small success.
Constancy bears fruit.
Beginnings, good fortune.
Endings, chaos.’
Stopping Creates Disorder. Never lose your momentum. Always be the beginning
Avoid becoming complacent, or arrogant.
Water over Fire:
There is an obvious threat that the Water can extinguish the Fire, or that the flame can cause the water to evaporate. Water always moves downward; fire always burns upward.
Forces must be balanced for water to boil properly,
#63 is called "After Completion." This is the only hexagram in the I Ching in which all six lines are in their proper places. There is an energetic law in the I Ching that favors the "weak" yin/broken lines resting on the "strong" yang/whole lines...
... so it is usually favorable that when comparing pairs of lines, the lower line be yang, the upper line be yin.1, 3, and 5; yin lines in places 2, 4, and 6 constitute energetic perfection and balance.
#63 Appears to be the end, as everything has been completed.

#2 - "Losing One's Veil" - Develop your own inner strength. Protection from within.
#4 - "Fine Clothes Turn to Rags" -Be proactive and stay focused.
#6 - "Raising Your Head Above the Water" - Letting go. Resistance -> Persistence
PATIENCE
PRUDENCE
PERSERVERANCE

Look past dates. Look past numbers. What do they represent? 63 is not a date. 63 is more than a number. It's a marker in a timeline. Something that needs to be achieved. This is spiritual alchemy.
Western understanding of Eastern thought is key. ...
The I Ching contains 64 hexagrams (The square of 8. 8x8.) #64 being before completion, with fire above water. Condition before transition. 63 and 64 are two ideas of completion. A life well lived and a life just starting over.
