1. The racist hatred against the Brahmins that has become the norm in our society is similar to the hatred against Tutsis by Hutus in Rwanda, leading up to their genocide.
2. This picture is just one eg of how this hatred is becoming decentralized now, percolating to the lowest levels, where violence takes place. We are preparing one segment of our population for a possible genocide in future. And are supposed to tolerate it for 'politics' sake'.
3. As a contrast to this, in my childhood, my grandmother would welcome all Hindus in her house without discrimination but would not let a Muzl!m or a Chr!st!an enter it.
4. Once when a RoP entered by mistake, she did shuddhi of her house and washed the garden many times. Such was the hatred of the enemy in common people. She would always call them mlechhas, the cow-eaters.
5. That viveka is now washed away with three generations of 'educated Indians'. Hate has become internal now. We have learned to love our enemies and hate ourselves and our friends.
6. And so some hate Dalits or some other communities and some hate Brahmins. But the hatred of Dalits is countered at every level from the state, to the individuals. The hatred against Brahmins is encouraged at every level. And therein lies the difference.
7. My greatest worry is not the Brahmin individuals. My greatest worry as I expressed elsewhere, is the Brahmin way of life, which the Brahmins will be forced to abandon and shun in order to spend a normal life without shame, guilt or blame.
8. And with the demise of the Brahmin way of life, the knowledge tradition of India will dry up, and that will be the death of India.
