Citizens will set the agenda of the Conference, citizens will have a say on the political outcome. 108 citizens will participate in the Conference Plenary. (80 from assemblies, 27 from national events, 1 from youth parliament) /2
Final report will NOT be drafted and signed in a backroom deal. The Executive board will have to collaborate with the Conference Plenary in a fully transparent way. MS gave us a lot of heat on this one. But we managed to get this workable compromise. /3
The Conference will be open for ANY input. If citizens propose policies that require treaty change they will NOT be rejected. /4
Resistance from European capitals was strong in the last days. It is a foretaste of what we are expecting in the upcoming months during the Conference. BUT: European Parliament stands united. There is a real chance for this Conference to trigger actual change. BUT /5
