Calling Sacheen Littlefeather a fake only serves white supremacy in that you are undermining and delegitamizing the real work she did as an Indigenous activist. She put eyes on the Wounded Knee occupation with her protest at the Academy Awards during the height of the siege. /1
Sacheen put her life at risk with this protest, was shot at, and was blacklisted from Hollywood specifically to serve as an example by the government to discourage any further Indigenous activism in the United States. indiancountrytoday.com/archive/a-rece… /2
What has @jfkeeler done? Keeler has spent her whole life using jealously as a motivator to drag down Indigenous people who do not meet her personal metric of approval. She hasn't done any activist work. She only writes books that appeal to non-natives so she can make money. /3

Proof has come forward: @jfkeeler's "professional, vetted genealogists" for the "Alleged Pretendian List" are Cherokee members David Cornsilk and Kathy White Griffin, who have been earlier shown to exhibit anti-Black behavior and harassing other people for questioning them.

@jfkeeler pray tell, how are we supposed to view these two as competent professionals to handle other people's personal and confidential information? You are allowing people with a huge bias and racist history to play authority.
@jfkeeler your team writing and making the "Alleged Pretendian List" is not professional. The only thing they're good at is being racist, unapologetic bullies with a long history of attacking others for criticizing them. Birds of a feather flock together it seems.

I'm sure I confuse Keeler & her supporters bc "why would an enrolled Dine person do all of this?"
Because I don't judge ppl by posession of papers or use records to determine ppl's authenticity bc that is colonial toxic bs that has no place in our future as Indigenous ppl.
I do not go to other tribes where I have no idea and demand ppl to prove themselves. I listen to ppl: their stories, their experiences, & their knowledge. The more we use colonial papers & systems to determine ourselves, the more we continue to contribute to our own extinction.
I am calling out Keeler's behavior, and her coworkers, for the explicit harm they have done to innocent Black Indigenous & Indigenous ppl by making that list with no factual basis or ethical investigation. As well as for lying about it and working with predators as well.

@jfkeeler Ahem. From the Association of Professional Genealogists in their Code of Ethics and Professional Practices, guidelines, one should "refrain from withholding, suppressing, or knowingly misquoting or misinterpreting sources or data".
One should also "Treat information concerning living people with appropriate discretion", I believe that having the Pretendian list on semi-public Googles Sheets doc lacks discretion as one with an email address and your approval can access it more than once.
@jfkeeler if the work on the Alleged Pretendian list is thoroughly vetted by professionals, I would imagine they would be in the Association of Processional genealogists, in order to support your statement that they are, indeed, vetted professionals.

Very interesting how most major Indigenous organizations, actors, writers, artists and more follow @jfkeeler but seem to not make any statements or unfollow her account after recent events. Their silence speaks volumes of their own morals.
Saad Bee Hozho's silence on this is especially damning. I can't imagine being a group of Dine writers and poets who have Keeler as their member, wrote that letter about Roanhorse and NONE of them have said ANYTHING regarding this past week. Really, really disappointing.
If u have a mutual that follows Keeler, let them know what's been happening. Give them the documentation timeline. Those who stay silent are compliant to the continuing perpetuation of anti-Blackness, colonial violence & gatekeeping culture in Indigenous society Keeler preaches.
