Calling intersectional Kendi-DiAngeloism "Critical Race Theory" was always going to fall prey to the selective pedantry of the left professoriat
It had to become much coarser, stupider, and more propagandistic to arrive at this point where this is being taught to STEM teachers...
But really all the fundamental errors in reasoning and proportionality were present in those articles appearing in Harvard Law Review in 1983
People who talk like this in 2021, speaking a jargon existing in a self-enclosed system of reference immune to correction or criticism, are the weaponized superbug version of the core CRT claims
But this resulting product has gone through decades of being fashioned into a blunt instrument of coercion, in chat rooms, tumblr posts, academic echo chambers, flame wars, campus and workplace meltdowns
We need a new term to describe this vision of the world as a matrix of interlocking oppression. P
People who want to analyze this sociological phenomenon without taking on the baggage of terms like "Cultural Marxism" are turning to a useful neologism: hedgehogreview.com/blog/thr/posts…
The original stuff was more sophisticated than the inane crap being taught in diversity seminars throughout corporate America. But that's really not saying much!
But it's why one should avoid calling the crap "CRT"
You want to avoid sounding Glenn Beck-ish or Trump Jr.-ish (or like lefties ascribing the war in Iraq to Leo Strauss) and recognize that the reason-resistant superbug that took over institutional America in 2020 is an 8th generation mutated variant
What makes the ideological succession distinctive is the belief that the different matrices of oppression are unitary and must be resisted all at once -- abolish prisons, police, standardized testing, the gender binary, whiteness, nuclear families, conceived as a single project
abolish morphological preferences, distinctions between health and unhealth, abolish merit, abolish non-inclusive sexual preferences, abolish all hierarchies, abolish anthropocentrism, etc.
Everybody knows this is bad, nobody defends this crap. Except, apparently, for the people who run our universities, school boards, foundations, charitable organizations, and tech companies.

A group of British transgender activists issues open letter listing their demands of the UK government in wake of recent Supreme Court ruling that trans women aren't women
Medical demands include fully taxpayer funded provision of:
-- 200 hours of electrolysis
-- Facial surgery
-- "Any gender non-conforming surgeries"
-- "Full compensation paid to any transgender people who have been forced to pay for private treatment due to the failures of the NHS to address the issues faced in accessing gender affirming care."
This is actually just the baseline. That this totalitarian exertion is being deployed in all earnestness on behalf of so self-evidently frivolous and narcissistic a set of goals is the news.
The reason transgender inclusion in women's sports is "deeply unfair" is that:
1.) Men have a physical advantage over women
2.) Trans women are men
In lieu of acknowledging these two facts, the Democratic party calls women and girls begging them to put an end to deep unfairness Nazis.
Of course some elements of the party (and journalists throughout the mainstream media and "scientists" at corrupted peer reviewed journals) deny 1.) It's possible for smart guys in the liberal coalition to dispute or even mock such obviously untrue claims.
The thing they can't do is acknowledge 2.)
Some Smart Guys in the liberal coalition claim that it's possible to end the deep unfairness of letting men dominate women in women's sports without acknowledging 2.)
But that's plainly wrong. There is no deep unfairness to end without acknowledging 2.)
Textbook circa 2017 intersectional clusterfuck with white "ciswoman" becoming indignant over black man weaponizing her body in a drive to Otherize trans women. "How dare you?" she inveighs.
"Disingenuous statements about protecting the safety of women have been used as tools of oppression for hundreds of years..."
She's all but accusing him of being one of Emmett Till's murderers.
(A white male colleague asked if his support for women's spaces and sports could be analogized to support for Jim Crow laws days earlier.)
Someone replied to my earlier thread by saying "it must burn these progressives up so bad that he's black."
But based on their conduct toward them, it does not constrain them in any way. The run the same playbook with no deference or alteration at all.
If you look at the intersectional math as revealed in action, trans just trumps everything. Gay, black, female -- counts for zip. Gay black female might as well be Bubba from Mobile next to the white man in a dress.
The absurd hypothetical always receives earnest assent from the Trans Activists and allies
But of course for a member of the Democratic party, the answer is literally yes. Two Presidents -- Obama in the final year of his term, and Biden in the final year of his -- passed regulations mandating that the concerns for safety and privacy of women and girls must have no standing before any school in America
People will say "trans people have always existed" and then point to depraved Roman emperors, Greek and early Christian castration cults, or "third sexes" in premodern societies who are treated as a pariah class consigned to prostituting themselves in order to preserve rigidly binary sex roles
People distressed by their sex have always existed.
There's just never been a better approach to this than to promote tolerance and understanding of people who diverge from gendered norms without performing grisly medical experiments on their bodies or attempting to use state power to compel acceptance that any of them have changed by virtue of those experiments or propagandizing every child into believing that their distress can be solved through grisly medical experimentation.
I don't support castrating people who identify as eunuchs.
But a salient difference between eunuch affirmation surgery and gender affirming surgery is that people who castrate themselves really become eunuchs.
This 22-year New Hampshire Democratic state legislator voted to ban gender surgeries on children last year and to protect girl's sports and changing rooms this year. Local LGBTQ organizers intend to make him pay a price for...enacting the will of 67 percent of Democratic party voters, that all but one other party member in the House took great pride in defying. They are circulating fliers calling these votes "severe discrimination against the lives of LGBTQ people."
It's a matter of the utmost importance for the party to clamp down on this show of independence by one of its members, to deploy blood-curdling emotional blackmail (a white colleague asked Wheeler if his vote supporting keeping girl's changing female could be analogized to supporters of Jim Crow laws) and implicit and explicit threats of political ruin against anyone who break ranks with a lobby that exerts greater disciplinary power than any other within the party.
Wheeler has evidence, reason, and reality on his side, and has shown admirable poise and fortitude in defending his vote. The question is whether it will be enough to secure him against the coming onslaught. I have good reason to hope that he will not fold like Seth Moulton before him.
